The asylum is stupid. It polutes our fair ffxi forums with threads about pictures of cut off pig rectums (And i sure as f*ck aint lying, there was a thread about that recently). Full of stupid karma campers, and all asylumites are trolls. The asylum is what made the rating system obsolete.
Also, the imaturity level is terrible. I mean, like the post about katie talking about group activities... EVERY SINGLE POST WAS SEXUAL. Whats wrong with you people? I mean, wtf? Is this a board about sex or something?

OP: First, the Asylum is very elitist, angsty, and it's usually an e-peen measuring contest, but it's about as far from stupid as an internet message board can get. The people here act the way we do because we know we're better than people like you. It's unfortunate that life can be so cruel, but there it is.
Secondly, this is NOT "your fair FFXI forums". This is a multi-gaming website which (sadly) happens to host info on FFXI, among other games. And the FFXI boards are not "fair". They're as banal and immature as the typical FFXI player. Why do you think I quit playing FFXI and left your "fair forum"? Because most FFXI players, such as yourself, are complete morons. The game itself was pretty fun and engaging, but the community ruined any chance I had of continuing to enjoy it.
Third, the Asylum has made the rating system obsolete? How? It doesn't work on THIS board because nobody on THIS board cares about karma either way (at least in theory, and even occasionally in practice). However, the rating system throughout the rest of the site seems to be working fairly well. After all, you don't have scholar so obviously your "fair FFXI forumgoers" are doing something right.
As for the "immaturity" level... I think you have it backwards. Most of the posters in the Asylum are adults who are comfortable with the subject of sex and don't get the giggles every time someone says the word "breast".* In general, sex is the second most talked-about subject on this board after politics. Deal with it.
Lastly, I'd just like to say that most of the people here are very well-balanced in general. This board is mostly used as an escape from work, and people let their hair down here. We talk about anything and everything without regard to feelings being hurt or egos being bruised. You seem a bit too uptight and immature to fit in here. But don't take it personally; the Asylum has always been a bit of an exclusive club. =)
