After reading through this board from time to time, I see a lot of people against the War in Iraq so I have a favor to ask.

I am doing a paper for my english class in which we need to cover both sides of an argument. So I am covering the reasoning behind the war in Iraq. I plan on using White House press releases and so forth as the pro war reasoning, but I need some solid anti war information.

Anyone have a couple websites they get their information from?

I am not looking for conspiracy theory or the he said she said game. I need fact on why we shouldn't be in Iraq. If anyone has some good information that would be greatly appreciated I would really like to portray both sides of this argument equally.

White house press releases will only get you GOP spin. To counter, you will need something like moveon.org I would guess.

I'm sorry I didn't realize when writing a paper it was wrong to ask other's opinions on a subject and where they get there information. I'll make sure in the future that I shut out other folk's thought on a subject and just stick to a one thought pathway. Have a nice day.

Thomas and C-SPAN should have links to congressional floor statements and records. I'm sure that many a senator and congressman has spouted at length about this issue.

When your 15 and have grass on the patch, you'll learn how to take a statement without responding like this.

If this is a high school paper, I don't see why White House press releases won't work, even if it is spin. If it is college, you should know how to look for this stuff by now.

Flea is right about Thomas, although I had issue navigating it at first (I may just be slow, who knows). Once I figured it out, it is a great resource. I found it useful when I was doing something similar for a poli sci class. This will help with both sides of your argument, and look better than just white house press releases.

Eh, oh well. I just didn't see your average high schooler learning to write a five page argumentative-persuasive paper for english class going much beyond things like that. This isn't a research paper.

But, as I said, point taken.
