checking out some newer games. Cant stand EQ, most of my old cronies from DAOC are still hooked on WoW and taking a break from DAoC for a bit. I'm bored. Kinda checking out FFXI.

FF is alright. I fell in love with it at first, but found myself not playing it suddenly. I will say, however, I got bogged down with classes and such, so that may be the reason.

Ok, fine, my gig is up. No, I'm not playing EQ and I'm not going to play FFXI. I am looking for a new game though. I'm bored, I've read every book in my house, I keep buying new ones once a week but I'm just bored bored bored. I dont know what game I really want to play but FFXI isnt it.

City of Hero's was fun for about a month.

Now niobia's really going to think you are stalking her. But seriously, FFXI isn't -that- bad, I don't quite understand what the bias is against it. I am sure there is background there that I do not understand and whatnot, so I just sort of leave it alone, but the game was alright. It wasn't the best thing I have ever played, but I had fun with it for a little while. It had its perks. Maybe I will go back to it once I feel more secure with my classes, who knows.

Yeah, I was more looking for something to kill some time with and FFXI seemed like it would definantly be a time sink. I was more turned off by the fact it didnt have a class that could compare to the DAoC fire wizard.

Oh yes, hey Pensive, did you realize that you and I were buddy/buddy apparently??

Eh, don't quit EQ.

My advice is to just avoid MMO's for a while. Once you get totally bored with real life, pick EQ back up. It'll feel nice and fresh again. That's how I've managed to hang on to FFXI for as long as I have.
#12 Oct 16 2005 at 8:48 PM Rating: Good
I quit EQ for 3 years, picked it back up recently but it only held my attention for about 2 weeks.

Touche. Well, in that case, all I can really say is that if you start FFXI, I can get you a pass to my server, and some starting money. Not like I don't have enough money as it is...

Oh, and a word of advice. Don't ever play Thief. Ever.
#14 Oct 16 2005 at 8:53 PM Rating: Good
I've never been into thief/assasin kind of toons. I much more enjoy classes who can make really big beautiful blasts of fire. Something satisfying about watching your target come running out of a mushroom cloud explosion completly covered in fire.

Yep, you sound like a Black Mage or Summoner in the making.

And trust me, I was never much into Thief/Assassin stuff either. Thief just has a fun playstyle in FFXI, and it hooked me...

Beastmaster, on the other hand...I started FFXI with an agenda. To recreate my old D&D character from my childhood. Mission accomplished.

Sign up for the D&D beta. I've been playing it off and on all day. It's not like any other MMO I've played. So far it's been a real challange.

You could always stop playing games and just fantasize about me all day.

Just a thought.

Try Morrowind. It's not an MMOG, but it's pretty absorbing, and has enormous replay potential.

Just be sure to save your game OFTEN with unique save name - like every time you think to yourself, "should I kill this person?"

Also quick save a lot, since death = last save point.

Isn't Mr. Katie coming home soon? Maybe you are just anxious about that.

Eh, look at me playing a shrink. Valid point though. And hey, he will keep you occupied.

Hmm will have to do some research on Morrowind. The main thing is I dont want to spend $50 for a game that I wont play. That'd be the reason I've been researching. I did sign up for the D&D beta, we will see if I get it.

Aegis, hun, I'm sorry, I'm just not into goat ****.

He is soo going to be home soon, but the days are dragging by. Just soo bored. I knwo thats most of the reason why I'm restless.

I've played EQ, DAOC and GW. I've beat every command and conquer my husband has in the house, beat age of mythology too. I've almost finished FRIENDS all the way through the 6th season. Mr.Katie has season 7,8, and 9 with him in the sand box. I've watched all the Futurama seaons we own.. Rearranged the bedroom 3 times, rearranged the living room twice. Thinking of switching the guest room and the computer room around now. I even "organized" all the closets in the house. I'm bored!

Hm. In the line of watching things that take forever, I suggest renting the seasons of Oz or the Sopranos if you haven't seen them. Worth watching, and will certainly eat alot of time. I like the Sopranos in particular. Maybe cook some stuff to freeze so you can spend more time in the sack than worrying about dinner. I dunno...maybe FFXI is a good bet for now. Sucks.
