Othwerwise known as "Bird 'flu."

The experts are now arguing about 'when', not 'if'

Anticipated fatalities are about half a million in UK, about 2.4 million in USA.

A Pandemic is overdue, but you know what the scariest thing is?

Every year a 'flu outbreak takes the lives of many old, frail people, plenty of babies, and a number of those with weak lungs and hearts.

But this one stands a good chance of being another surprise motherfucker.

The "Spanish 'flu
" pandemic of 1918 killed millions. But guess what? Not the old, young or frail. Nope. The biggest casualties were fit, healthy 20-40 year olds.

Indications are that the high risk categories for the impending wastage are those who have the lowest Darwinian immunity.

Nice knowing you!

i dunno, estimates have ranged from 5 mil worldwide to 150m worldwide.
we wont know til it happens, unfortunately. and although countries are stockpiling antivirals like tamiflu, not even the US has enough to supply a quarter of the nation. Estimates have ranged 10 years to make enough antivirals like tamiflu to "help" three quarters of the US's population. <.< We're f***ed guys. LOL

and damnit, Im just turning 21 this month too. Why god why! XD

side note: Bout damn time we get a pandemic. <.<

Yes, because 3.1 million deaths per year and 1.1% of Earth's population just isn't enough...

With the gross overpopulation is some countries, coupled with the inevitable shortage of natural resources, apparently not.

desease killing millions, record number hurricanes, massive earthquakes, mudslides, floods.....

i remember reading it in a book somewhere.....

if it is not the avian flu, it will be some other desease. we are doomed to destroy ourselves. as tollarant and tough as mother nature can be, eventually the infestation called man will force her to defend herself.

why God would choose to save any of us is the greatest mystery.

This name "Avian Influenza" sounds more like a designer water bottle for people in 90210 then a sickness.

People of all shapes, colours, creeds and religions have been saying that for a long long long time and it still hasn't panned out.

I'm actually confused as to how disease, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunmais, mudslides, floods, volcanic eruptions and terrible space mutants are mankinds fault.
