All the pretty colors...Follow

They say that you should try to learn something every day. Well, I learned something today. I learned my PC isn't up to ripping a DVD and playing EQ at the same time. Not even close.

It's been well over a year since I touched it hardware-wise, so it must be getting close to time to spend some money. Oh well.

Anyway, I valued the rip more than the EQ session, so I killed EQ for the time being. Every time I run EQ, there's some sort of video setting that gets trashed and doesn't go back to normal until I reboot. It's like a contrast setting and everythign is set too bright, including EQ if I'm not in full screen mode. When I'm in full screen, the colors are good.

I'm not here to ***** about my video settings, though. I'm here to report what I learned. I decided to toy with my settings and see if I could fix the issue without having to reboot and ruin my ongoing rip.

As none of you may recall, I've stated several times in past posts that I'm about as colorblind as a human can be. It only sucks when people who see all these vibrant colors every day start querying me about why I can't tell which color is red/green/brown or green/blue/purple. It's truly annoying because I can tell you that they aren't the same color since they are obviously not the same shade. I just can't name them, though some shades I CAN with no problems at all. Yeah, yeah, I'll cry you a river about it some time. I'm not really here to ***** about that particular genetic shortcoming of mine.

Whilst playing with my video card settings ina careful manner, I came across something called 'digital vibrance' and all I can say is god bless NVidia. It's like they made that stuff just for me. I can now name every color on my desktop. I am truly blessed.

I bet it looks gaudy as hell to you normal peeples, but I think it's da bomb.
