Very decent show though I think splitting season two into two parts was a mind boggling stupid idea.
It's the scifi channel. They tend to do that with most of their shows. Not really sure why. I think they figure that they'll get more viewers if they put their shows on during the summer, and after the fall and spring premiers are done with. It does kinda make sense in a way. Most people who are fans of scifi will watch it anyway, but if they want to capture a broader audience, it's better not to compete with 25 new shows each season.
By airing new episodes during the summer, winter, and second half of the normal season run, they get viewers during times when re-runs are playing, and they get the mid season viewers who maybe are bored with that new show that came out, or got cancelled, and hey! That show we were watching over the summer that was kinda neato is running new episodes...
Not sure if that's the reason, but it's a guess.
As to the show itself. Yeah. It's kinda neat. I like some of the things they're doing, but I feel like they're dragging their feet on others. There's only so long you can keep going on "the cylons are doing weird and random things that we don't understand because they have a secret plan, but we're not going to reveal it yet...". I do like it in that it's not an obvious plot line. My fear though is that it's not obvious because they don't really have a plan for what to do with the story beyond the first couple seasons. If that's the case, expect it to get really really crappy by season 3. I'm hoping that's not the case, but it's just that they seemed to be hinting at some direction early on, but have been in a holding pattern since then.
