Katie try MIRC, that used to be pretty popular when I used to IRC. You just need to know what server they are on, Efnet Dalnet & Undernet used to be the popular ones but I think there are private ones as well.

Hmm right click dot, scroll down to join channel, type in #asylum and then it logs trillian off completly. Not banned, just cant figure out why the whole thing crashes all of a sudden. Its a recent event.
