"We had a hunch that short gamma-ray bursts came from a neutron star crashing into a black hole
ok, now if a black hole is so powerful in its gravitational pull that is sucks everything in, how are the gamma rays getting out?
hauking radiation is on the outside edge of the event horrizon so that is visable as it heats up the sorrounding space, but gamma-rays and other rays or explosions should be absorbed by the black hole as they enter its gravitational pull no?
