Grr I hate living in the bible thumping texas..Follow

#1 Oct 05 2005 at 7:39 PM Rating: Decent
Blah! I got this ******* **** in my email.

Quote:

>> Don't forget that in Texas we have the November 8 special election.
>>
>> Special Election November 8, 2005
>>
>> The Marriage Amendment stating that marriage in Texas is between a man and a woman passed both Houses of the Texas Legislature and will be on the ballot for a special election on November 8. The amendment, which will be listed as PROPOSITION 2 on the November 8 ballot, must be approved by a majority of Texans for this to become a part of the Texas Constitution, which would remove the issue from the jurisdiction of activist judges on the courts who have struck down Defense of Marriage Acts that other states have passed as simple bills and not as constitutional amendments.
>>
>> If this were on the ballot during a regular election, there is no doubt that this would pass by a large majority. This is a special election, where the statewide vote is expected to be only 750,000 total. The passion, money and organization on the side of those who oppose Proposition 2 because they want same-sex marriage to be legal in Texas could cause this very important amendment to go down in defeat. Because Texas is the only state where this issue is on the ballot this year, same-sex marriage proponents across the nation are sending their money and volunteers to Texas to defeat Proposition 2. In one of their organizational meetings in San Antonio, the plan was disclosed to have people from other states come to Texas to register to vote 30 days before the election to defraud this election. There is no residency requirement to register to vote in Texas -- you can register the day you move here.
>>
>> The other side has money, a website, yard signs, bumper stickers, paid staff in every major city and has done a major buy for advertising on TV and radio. We don't have their money or supplies, but we DO have the truth and what God says about marriage.

Seriously, why do people send this ****? FThis person who sent it to me KNOWS I'm for gay marriage. I understand she's a huge church going bible quoting person, but come on. This irritates the living **** out of me. Hell she even lives at home still (shes 23) because she's been brainwashed that her mommy and daddy still need her. She doesnt date because it might upset her dad. Wont move out because they wouldnt like it. I've been friends with this chick scince middle school but dont activly go out of my way to associate with her anymore. So, WHY do people send this **** out. She even had a nice little bible quote at the end of her email. I hate churches! I really do.

People send it because they care about the issue. Maybe she thinks she can change your opinion. But, damn she still lives with her parents and doesn't date now that is psychotic. I'm a Christian person but still I'm not that nuts.

Not even sure how to comment. You have touched on two issues; gay marriage and religion. Both subjects could take up a large amount of posting room. Religion? I won't bash anyone in particular, but the propaganda stinks. Gay marriage is the business of gay folk, the church should butt out. If they don't like it, they can choose to *gasp* not officate...

The church can stuff it. When I have children I will teach them what I think they need to know about the bible and religion, but I refuse to let the church raise my children.

The nerve of those Christians...I swear. Always trying to say stuff to people about the way they believe. Now she's gone and sent you an email. The audacity!! I mean, how are you supposed to get that off of your computer?
#6 Oct 05 2005 at 7:55 PM Rating: Decent
ha ha Neph. Its the point of it. SHE KNOWS how I feel and believe about the subject. We've had this conversation before. She's one of those that used to invite me to church every Sunday. The point is WHY persist? Why send this **** out. Just blah!

because some people do not respect others opinions and feel the need to change those who do not agree with them. Welcome to human psychology 101.

Fight fire with fire if it pisses you off so much. Write your own email with facts on gay marriage and what you believe in and send it to her. If she complains, tell her you only thought it fair to send your opinions to her as she had done to you knowing you did not believe in that stuff.

you could always move to mass where we already have gay marriages as legal. So far Im not seeing it affecting anyone except the catholic church schools sending out notices with the students telling their parents they better sign a petition to ban it, and some guy randomly walking around central mass trying to get people to sign a petition against gay marriages, lying about what it is, then spitting on people if they decline.

I think we are more likely to go to hell for being so intolerant.

About a week ago I was asked to sign an anti-gay petition at a laundry mat in cali. When I declined, the lady said I was going to hell and offered me a bible so I could read up and 'save my soul'. Outraged, I accepted the bible saying "Thanks I was running out of papers to roll my joints with."

I thought the ***** was gonna hit me. Lmao.

Good times, good times.

One of the coldest, most miserable nights of my life was spent wandering around in Tennessee.

I see it greatly affecting people. Christian spit is being wasted on passers-by, instead of being used to digest their food, as God intended! These people are condemning themselves to aych-ee-double hockey sticks, and rightfully so.
