I'll be at the Oilers Avalanche game tonight. If you're watching it on TV and you hear someone yell 'SPEAR HIM!' that would be me.

Go Oilers! You can make those playoffs!

I'm also going to the game tonight. Apparently they want everyone in their seats at 7 for a bunch of opening season stuff, so if you roll in at 7:05 you will have to wait till 8 to sit down.

I used to watch Oilers hockey back when Gretzsky played for them. My favorite was when they would play the Nordiques.

Yeah I'm not 100% sure about that. I got this information from an unreliable source so take it however you want.

Ok it's only one night, but I am not sure I like the new rules at all. They took the hitting out of hockey. What's up with that? It looked more like an allstar game where nobody wanted to touch anyone than a real hockey game. And the power plays just got annoying, even when they were mostly on our side. The Flyers had three 5 on 3's tonight. You could go a month without seeing that many 5 on 3's before. I know the intensity level of hockey doesn't really pick up until February or March, but still this game seemed particularly tame for a conference game.

Hopefully it's just an adjustment that needs to be made and it will get better.

All the teams seem to be trying to get into the new groove. I have seen improvement over 3 Leafs games. I expect things to heat more up as they all fall in.

Sidney Crosby got a nice, rude awakening into the NHL, courtesy of my Devils. =D They showed him that he definitely won't have it easy.

I personally didn't notice a lack of hitting at the Oilers game tonight. Just a lack of stick work.

Go new NHL!

I have lost the Hockey love in the past year or two. Other than the strike it just could not grab my attention as it did in years past. I have tickets for a bunch of Flyers games this season, I would love to get back into the new season; but not sure if I will be able to make a lot of em, damn work Smiley: banghead
