Smoggy and I, at least, are up for doing something in the Maryland area this fall, meetings-wise. The two of us are partial to the Baltimore area, and there's lots and lots to do around here, believe me.

Who else is interested, and what months/dates would work best?

That's a 10 hour drive for me, I'll have to pass. Smiley: cry

Edit: Cleveland, Detroit, Niagara Falls, Buffalo are all solid potentials for me.

You could go to the RennFest so you can drink AND throw deadly weapons... and/or wear a kilt/armor/whatever.

Everything up there is only a short drive from here in D.C., however.

Sounds like fun, but I do not know anyone here. :(

You know people here about as well as most people here know other people here. This is a great way to get to know them better. However, I suggest spending most of the Maryland gathering talking about how awesome the Boston gathering is going to be, and how you can't wait to go.

I'd go to a Boston one as well. Boston is actually the next city I plan on living in if I ever bore of DC, so any chance to visit would be welcomed.

you realize MD is not that far from boston? I just did the trip in July and its pretty doable. I think you're all just a bunch of pansy ***es who cant fathom a small trip out to new England. I mean hell, if Nobby can come all the way from across the pond, the least you can do is get in your car and drive a few hours

I'm willing to go to Boston, but I want to do something less complicated here in the meantime

I always interested in get togethers when booze is mention. Being in Baltimore and not that far from Elicott City, There are lots of places near me to meet and drink at.

Just set a day and time and I'll try to make it this year. Jonwin didn't want to drive out to Columbia last time. I'll twist his arm harder this time.

California was last year wasn't it? Or was it the year before? Smash, Gitslayer, Totem, Thundra at least were there...can't remember if anyone else was.

I don't know anyone personally either, but I do live 10 minutes from the rennfest site and am completely willing to ***** myself to the marketing of a Boston event (though I can't afford to go that far myself).

My fiancee and I go to the renfest all the time, actually. A meeting there would be cool too.

Is there a dresscode for renfest?

Not really. Sometimes we go in costume, sometimes not. Depends on how we feel.

People there tend to be about 25/75 dressed up / plainclothes

Looks like Jonwin and I may be at the Renfest this Saturday. it will be my third time this season, but a first this year for Jonwin.

Jonwin likes to follow a few acts and musicans, while I've taken to sitting and chatting with friends of my daugthers at the Wine Garden.

Only 3 weekends of Renfaire this year and then my garb gets put away again.

Next year I want a new bodice :)

All the cool folks go in garb. Not that we insist that it be authenic like Pennsic. Jonwin's been know to show up in his Civil War garb looking for his friend, Mr. Wells
