Anybody want to see the cutest kittens in the world? Smiley: inlove

http://users.bestweb.net/~belhade/kittens/

The small ones are almost a month old, their mommy is about 9-10 months, so still technically a kitten too.

The two we're getting rid of (the tiger striped and the small black one) have tentatively been spoken for. I don't think i'd be able to airmail you a shoebox with holes punched in it anyways, heh.

Tiger is a boy, the others are all girls.

I had two small black kittens that Mr.Katie brought home from the base. They were wild. They also fought like there was no tommorrow. I gave the one I thought wasnt adjusting to my best friends sister who's cat of lik 13 years had died recently. I kept the other. I tried and tried to train this cat but just could not get the wildness out of it. I was bringing in groceries one day and he got out.. no more kittie. /cry. Pads, the one I gave to my friend, is the most loving adorable cat ever. I'm so jealous. I love going over there and playing with him. Though I dont miss the shedding hair.

That's the nice thing about black cats (for those of us who wear a lot of darker colors).

One just accepts shedding as part of the package of having loving little furballs living with us. I don't ever want to know how much cat hair I ingest over the course of a year.

IMHO, it's generally not worth the bother trying to have a wild cat as a pet. It sounds like your friend got lucky. The hubby and I strongly suspect our grouchy cat is about 1 generation away from barn cat. We love him, but he really is a prick who nobody but we can touch without fear of blood loss.

Must now get someone to resize picture of the cute kitten in /kittens17.jpg for new avatar.

We have 2 rescued cats, from our Vet.

Goldiva is psycho and known to attack unexpectanly any body part below the seat of my office chair. Then other days she is the most loveable cat you can want. In future visit to the Vet's office they will setate her before she is seen. She spent 3 months living at the Vet's office before we were allow to adopt her, so dislikes the place with a passion. Last time we took her to the vet, she leaped at Jonwin's provate parts. The vet says we are the only family that could deal with such a crazy cat.

Tony is built like a mobster and will force you to pet him. He has a glimp foot and patch of brown hair on his as[/sm]s, that makes him look like he sh[sm]it on himself.

We also have a lovely 17 year old cat that hides all the time. We're trying to convince her to come up out of basement to eat. Mask sightings are very rare events and I lived here for nearly a year before she would come near me.

Boy, does that sound familiar. We're now trying to find out if they can supply us with a sedative hypo we can give the cat ourselves before we bring him to the vet's office. We already give him two shots of insulin per day so we're not afraid of that.

The vet's office visits are a bit traumatic for everyone when one has a psycho pet, aren't they?

We were *told* that she was spayed when we got her, but she got out the first time she was in heat and bam.

We call her "Slutty Cat" in reference to "Smelly Cat" from Friends. Smiley: disappointed

Ironically, I don't trust folks who don't love their pets. Annoying isn't the word I'd use though.

My viewpoint is closer to Flea's on this one. Pets exist to enhance the owner's life, not to be the subject of infatuation.

I definitely plan to outlive all of my pets. I made a mental note of this on the day I got each one of them. I do spend time with the little critters and they serve their purpose (to enrich MY life) but if one of them kicks over or vanishes, I'll just get a replacement.

So this means a person shouldn't love their pets while they're under one's care?

I'm afraid most pet owners on the planet may disagree.

Very cute!

Reminds me of the last time one of my cats had kittens, about ten years ago. The "nest" was under the desk where my husband and I kept our computer, so I tended to spend a lot of time with my feet surrounded by kittens. No need for socks.

Then, when they were old enough to climb, I had to be careful to wear jeans all the time. It wasn't unusual for them to scale my legs as I sat at the desk and then for me to sit there chatting on IRC with my friends with four kittens asleep in my lap, two on each thigh.

This is when cats are generally the cutest and most playful, but after 6 months or so they get too big to be cute and need to be replaced...

At least, that's what it was like at my mom's house. There was usually at least one litter a year.

I'm not opposed to loving your pets, but there's a line crossed when you photograph them endlessly in different angles to capture an "expression", in cute outfits, put them on your Christmas cards, celebrate their birthdays, etc. I love my cat, but she's a cat. I don't try to impose a personality on her or make her into my pretend best-friend or, God forbid, an accessory. Of course these people are within their rights to do so, but I retain my right to mock them.

This is the kind of crap I'm talking about.

Thanks Deb Smiley: smile

The kitten reminded me of one I had years ago.

Now I am hooked. Nothing wrong with taking pride in your pet. Unless you dress him/her up everyday, that is just weird.
