Fridays are supposed to be awesome, right? Last day of work for two days where you can relax, go out to the bar, whatever. Well, this Friday was horrible for me.
Everything was fine. I woke up at 6 A.M. and went to work. It was payday so I decided to go to the bank on my lunchbreak. The bank is in a mall parking lot and has a bump/dip when you enter the parking area. Well, I must've hit it too hard because something fucked up on my vehicle. My front end dropped a couple of inches and I believe my transmission itself shifted to one side. The position where third gear was is now fifth gear.
I get back to work and finish my day. I am worried about my truck but hey, I have a job to do.
On my way home after work, I receive a phone call. It was my work firing me. I just started this job two weeks ago but I worked there back in 2000, when I was 16. My father also worked for the company. Some stuff happened that year and my father got laid off because of pretty in-depth reasons. I too, got laid off because well, I have the same name as my father.
I am still friends with people in the company so I started working there again. People would come up to me and say that I should have never left but honestly, it was something that I couldn't avoid. The company has changed quite a bit ever since Volvo Aeroservices/Ages Group bought 100% of it.
Enough of that, though. I was never given a reason why I was fired and didn't once get talked to about something I needed to work on or anything. So, why did I get fired? I am led to believe it was because someone high in the company found out who I was. Like I said, I have the same name as my father and my father's name is well known in the Aviation industry. This is the great state of Washington so they don't need a reason to fire you, we're a at-will state. Though, I would consider this discrimitory.
So now, my vehicle is fucked up and I am unemployed. I will find another job but this just sucks. I have bills to pay. That my friends, was my horrible Friday.
