I thought eventually that this would become clear to me, but since it hasn't:

What the hell are people on about? Is it some premium feature or something? Why do people care about their searchability?

I think it started out as a joke because the search feature is/was broken, so user names couldn't be searched directly. You'd have to be mentioned by name in a post for your name to come up in a search.

As to why, well, who the hell knows.

Mostly the egomaniacs of the forum care, for the reason implied.

I don' think I can be searched as only three letters aren't searchable if I remember correctly. Unless someone was talking to me formally.

5,658 for Joph* not counting various Iofiels, Jofiels, Jo's and other assorted unsearchables 'cause I'm too lazy. We'll call it an even 5,700.

I'm perfectly willing to admit that 4,000 of those are probably "Edited by..." messages

I got 90.

You lazy bastiches never want to type out my whole handle.

I don't really blame ya. I use intials and scribbles so much that I'm not sure I could actually write my whole name without a pistol held to my sack for inspiration.

I come up with 0 when I search for anyones name...what's up with that?

Edit...oh...it must be that little premium member only forum search y'all are using.

As moe does not meet the minimum string requirements, and Moe is what most people call me, searchability > me.

Yanari = 898

There are some hits for Yanni, but I think the posters were talking about the real Yanni. Smiley: lol

And yup, there are a few posters who are or were very interested in their searchability counts for some reason.
