Having seen the specials about giant squid on cable channels, which all end saying no one has ever seen one alive, this article is mildly cool...

I remember always seeing artists' depictions in books as a youth of squids and sperm whales locked in titanic struggles. Imagine my disappointment to learn that, by in large, the whales just eat the squids Smiley: frown

Still, it's cool that someone finally got to see one dinking around in the wild.

Apparently, that was only a Giant Squid. Scientists are still searching for the Colossal Squid, which is purported to be twice as big.

Then there is the ever elusive Great White Squid which is not only twice as big, but also Albino.

You forgot to add that this species has teeth where tentacles would normally be.

Have you ever photographed the Microscopic Pygmy Albino Squid? From what I understand, they only have one tenticle and only live for about 2 days, which is why they are so hard to capture on film.

That and they are microscopic.

Are you saying this in a sing-song nasal tone, or is that just my imagination?
