Tomorrow is the Day of Festivals in my area. I am unsure though of which would be the best choice, looking for a little input.
All revolve around Beer and all are free to get into. My company also is sponsoring all three so I am pulled in three different directions:
1) Oysterfest sponsored by Guinness and Miller Lite
2) Chowderfest sponsored by Guinness Heinken & Amstel
3) Oktoberfest sponsored by Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr
1) Oysterfest is a block party with live bands and ice cold Pints served at various locations. It is somewhat of an Irish Theme and has lots of local vendors selling their stuff. Lots of seafood also. 5 miles from my house.
2) Chowderfest is a HUGE seafood festival with limited Beer but some live music and lots of vendors. Some of the best chowder from the east coast is served here. 45 miles from my house but is worth a day trip.
3) Oktoberfest is your traditional Oktoberfest complete with German food music and TONS of frothy steins. I have been celebrating Oktoberfest now for 2 weeks at my house. Paulaner Hefe Weizen on tap and complete with German Folk Stream radio and decorated to the "T." 20 miles from my house.
It would seem unfair to celebrate Oktoberfest and skip out on a German Festival. I do love seafood and both Oysterfest and Chowderfest offer some of the best.
I could do both Oysterfest and Oktoberfest but miss out on a lot of both because of drive time. Chowderfest maybe the first to get scratched due to distance. I have a Designated Driver so that is not a problem. In terms of spending cash, they are all evenly priced. I did go to Irish Fest two weeks ago so maybe Oktoberfest is my best decision?
This is a huge time for me. I love outdoor festivals. The music the people the food and beer, the vendors and cultural thematics of each event. I really wanna make the most of tomorrow and cap off a great summer and introduce an even better fall.
