Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

69°F here, and it's only supposed to hit 92. Earlier in the week it set records in the hundreds for three or four days straight so today is a nice day.

April, come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May, she will stay
Resting in my arms again
June, she'll change her tune
In restless dreams she prowls the night
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight
August, die she must
The autumn winds blow chilling cold
September, I'll remember
A love once new has now grown old

No joke, after commenting how warm september has been in Boston, the NEXT DAY the high was 65 and it's been chilly since.

It's all my fault...god dammit

This is the springtime of my loving-
The second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing-
So little warmth I’ve felt before.
It isn’t hard to feel me glowing-
I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles-
Flee from me keepers of the gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes
It is to you I give this tune.
Ain’t so hard to recognize-
These things are clear to all from
Time to time. ooooh...

I’ve felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...

But I know that I love you so
But I know that I love you so.

These are the seasons of emotion
And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion-
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient-
Upon us all a little rain
Must fall.
Just a little rain?
Ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

Oh Monday morning waking up
still too numb to speak
another night just staring at the wall
last night's conversation
knocked me off my feet
I guess today I fall
I wish that we could find the words
to look the other way
be careful of the things we do
and watch the things we say
and maybe then we'd get somewhere
we've never been before
oh what's the use in fighting
When you know you've lost the war
Walked the streets of New Orleans
shirt soaked to my skin
through the mess of yesterday's parade
a thousand times a day
I think of calling you again
come to my senses instead
and Everytime we walk away
we lose a little time
pretending to each other now
that everything is fine
i know whatever lies I use
to get myself to sleep
I wake up to the promises
I know we couldn't keep
Say you don't see
what's wrong
every night
lasting oh so long
I know, I do
you're already gone
I wonder should I get up
I would but what's the point
oh when something's gone
it's gone for good
maybe I could look away
back to where we used to be
one more time
I wish I could
oh never mind the reasons
that tore us all apart
we've both done things
I know we can't defend
What's the use in tracing
it all back to the start
when theres something
missing in the end
I wish that we could find
the words to look the other way
be careful of the things we do
and everything we say
maybe then we'd get somewhere
we've never been before
oh what's the use in fighting
when you know you've lost the war
Say you don't see
what's wrong
every night
lasting oh so long
I know I do

I know
you're already gone

Monday??

We're doing a month theme here! Smiley: tongue

Oh, if we make it through December
Everything's going to be all right, I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shudder when I see the falling snow
Oh, if we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town come summertime
Maybe even California
If we make it through December, we'll be fine

I got laid off down at the factory
The timing's not the greatest in the world
Heaven knows I've been working hard
Trying to make Christmas right for Momma's girl
Oh, I don't mean to hate December
It's supposed to be a happy time of year
But my little girl, she won't understand
Why Momma can't afford some Christmas cheer

Oh, if we can make it through December
Everything's going to be all right, I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shudder when I see the falling snow
Oh, I don't mean to hate December
It's supposed to be a happy time of year
But my little girl, she won't understand
Why Momma can't afford some Christmas cheer

Hey, why don't you just break the filter? It seems like you're either being lazy or this is your "thing."

If you think that I could be forgiven...I wish you would
C Am C ....
nanananananananana..

The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl

And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California...I think you should

Drove up to the Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower
Makes you talk a little lower about
the things you could not show her

And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass

And it's been one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood
It's been so long since I've seen the ocean...I guess I should

Try to remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September when grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September when you were a tender and happy fellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow follow.
Try to remember when life was so tender that no one had wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender when dreams were kept beside your pillow.
And deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow follow.

Why break the filter? Seriously. Because it's the cool thing to do? Not my style, plus it saves me 6 keystrokes or a mouse move. And yes, the "f'uck" and "sh;t" are typically associated with me.

SEASON of mists and mellow fruitfulness!
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drowsed with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twinèd flowers;
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cider-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.

Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,—
While barrèd clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.
