Today, I am officially cooler than all of you because I A. got to see Terry Pratchet at a book signing, B. got to talk with Mr. pratchet, and C. had a book autographed by him complete with a Monty python joke reference on teh fact my IRL name is Tim!

He'll be in seattle tomorrow for any of you up in that area.

Didnt Smoggy already do the meet and greet book signing thing and even get an extra copy signed for Smasharoo?

I met Terry Prachet before, talked to him, got books signed and I've never even read a single book of his.

I was #2 in line even!

Joph, that's because you do things just do do them. I highly doubt that even you know why you do half the things you do.

He's a bloody nice bloke, great fun to chat with, and I love his books, but I still maintain that in 20 years time collectors will be fighting over the handful of unsigned copies of his stuff.

Hi Smoggy!

Havn't seen smash around much lately since he got diagnosed as being bipolar.

Thud is the one I ended up getting signed. I have not read it quite yet though.

So how are you doing anyways? Havn't been eaten my a chupacabra recently I hope? because they aren't native to your area.

Hey Kao! Hope Smash is doing well or at least pleasantly medicated =P

Cool, I'm looking forward to Thud!

I'm doing well - just got a new year-long contract in Towson with Black and Decker (start next Monday). Good thing too - my last contract was completed at the end of July - so spent these past 2 months working on the house, sleeping, job hunting, sleeping, and playing EQ2.

I'm finally done with WoW unless they come out with an expansion pack that would be interesting for non-pvp players like myself. My wife is still addicted to WoW - she's doing great as a level 60 priest and is a raiding fanatic.

When we get my wife a new pc later this year, I hope to lure her over to EQ2. Also, I signed up for the D&D Online game Alpha, so here's hoping I can check that game out. I got invited into the City of Villains beta, but I haven't pulled myself out of EQ2 long enough to give a try. I'll give it a try one of these nights.

We've got an opportunity to move back to San Francisco sometime after June of next year. We're going to move into my wife's grandmother's place in the city and eventually buy it.

Life here in Westminster has been nice, but we're fairly remote from friends and family - and we've just found out one of my old friends here and his family are re-locating to Colorado. So that'll give a new place to visit when we get back out west.

So to sum up, Smoggy's world has been pleasantly boring - how's life been treating you? Still in Texas? Fared well during the Hurricanes?

How about the rest of you old timers? How goes it?

Nah, i escaped texas last christmas. literally. I'm back up in Vancouver, WA now. No hurricanes up here, just a rather irritated active volcano that seems to think that sending up clouds of ash mt. vesuvius style every day is fun. Other than that, everything is quiet up here!

Very cool - Weather-wise, that's gotta be a decent change of pace for you. I've just about had my fill of the humid sumer weather out here. Before we moved back east we had looked towards the north (Washington, Oregon, etc.) but hadn't any luck job hunting up that way.
