I'm old and I don't have a clue who they are.

I'm just posting to pad the count.

The first act was "Hella" which is probably the worst live act I have ever been subjected to.

You obviously have never had the misfortune to see Ratt live. Liked their music, back-in-the-day, but listening to them on LP didn't make my ears bleed. I hate when a bands peformance from recording to live is night and day.

Never heard anything from Mars Volta. I'll have to download something and check it out. System of a Down is ok. Like their stuff, but not enough to pay for a concert ticket.

I definitely would have to say the show was more about Mars Volta than SOAD. System was aight but Mars was phenomenal.

Geez bhodi, did we see the same Mars Volta? I saw them once, as an opening act for Queens of the Stone Age, who were followed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and to put it simply, Mars Volta was fucking terrible. The guitarist seemed to be playing the same damn note over and over again, I had absoltuely no idea what the singer was saying, and the singer looked like he had ants in his pants, he was dancing so spasmodically. When they finally left, roughly half of the ground floor cheered in a stadium full of people.

Worst live act that I've ever seen, by far.

What do you call System of a Down playing a halftime gig at a football stadium? System of a First Down, 15 yard penalty, holding, #28!

Holding is a 5 or 10 yard penalty n00b!

I never did like System of the down, too hardcore for me. However, from what I've heard they put on a awesome concert.

Well, the thing is, half of the Mars Volta's lyrics are from a theme album inspired by the life of a drug addict. The other half are in Spanish.

That's probably why you didn't understand what he was saying.

But they're definitely not for everyone, i'll grant that.

I saw System of a Down about 6 years back and it was an awesome concert. Then again, they were a fairly unknown band so it was at a smaller venue which is always better.

My roommate went to the System/Mars Volta concert last month and said that Mars Volta was booed off stage. I'm not sure if it was the smartest opening band for SOAD.

No, I mean that they were unindentifiable gibberish. If I had memorized the lyrics to every song they had written, I would've still had no idea what he was saying.

Well yeah...that's the drug addict inspired part. The lyrics are pretty nonsensical, and come off as pretty creepy and strange if you really listen to them. If you mean that they were poorly sung, then I dunno what to say, but I've never had a problem discerning what they say on the album, just what it means.

Well, a few years back, the Chilli Peppers played at the TD Waterhouse Center over here in Orlando. Their opening act was Audioslave. You can imagine who got boo'ed off of the stage. Red Hot Chilli Peppers are pretty badass, in my opinion. They have a style thats just kinda wonky, and enjoyable. I've never actually seen Mars Volta, though, so I'll shut the hell up. Anywhere I could illegally download some of their tracks?
SOAD's first album was great. Their second album was slightly less great, but still decent. Their newest album sucks syphallitic donkey ******************

And with this, I concur. To an extent, though. If you ignore lyrics to songs, like I do sometimes, they have a couple of really good beats on Mesmerize. Cigaro is a good track. The lyrics are something that a prepubecent teen would have a giggle fit over, but if you ignore them, the song itself isn't that bad.

Summary for the lazy: Audioslave is a ***** to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and System of a Down doesn't suck, just a lot of their lyrics do.

Right now, I am listening to a big band/jazz mix song. I clicked on this link, and bhodi's avatar was dancing to the song in perfect rythym.

Too funny.
