I take the "T" (Boston's Subway sytem)

$1.25 to work, and free going outbound back home.

Car stays parked unless I need to get out of Beantown.

If it gets that high around here, I don't know what I'll do. We just moved further away from where I work. And I don't exactly have a job that makes a lot of money. Anyone who's ever worked for a newspaper will know there's no money in it.

recent reports coming out of Boston on the radio this evening are predicting the gas to go up to $4 within two weeks. Earlier this morning it was predicted at $5.

I've driven back and forth to my mom's several times today. I've seen the guy out in front of the station changing the gas prices twice now. It started out this morning at $2.45 and was up to $2.69 last time I passed by.

It's likely to go up again when Rita "destroys" all of the oil refineries in good old Texas.

I half wish that these hurricanes DO destroy the oil, as the sooner we run out, the sooner we can start depending on something that shouldn't have been obsolete 30 years ago.

It's roughly at about $2.89 per gallon here in the Seattle area. I heard about the raise today but I don't think it'll hit that high. If it does, well, I commute so...Carpool, here I come!

I love Alberta- 92 cents a litre! And the government is buying me an Xbox 360. I hope the USA doesn't declare war on our little sanctuary, we have 4 submarines and they're all in West Edmonton Mall.

I save a lot of money on gas by carpooling. It takes $50 to fill my tank a week, but I give the guy I ride to work with $20, it fills him up, and I save at least that each week. I tried riding my bike to work, but it is 12 miles one way, and it was the hottest day of the year and I damn near passed out from heat exhaustion.

I don't know where your gas supplies come from, but here in Tampa, FL, our main refinery is/was in New Orleans.

Strike one.

Guess where our backups have been coming from? Texas

Strike two.

$3.20 a gallon here. Mother F-in Nature.

Strike three.

Smiley: lol Actually if the gubberment would just scrap world pricing we would be home free! Alberta produces enough oil to supply Canada cheaply and export to the rest fo the world.

Was 1.75$ a litre in some parts Montreal last night, I was still able to fill up this morning at 1.10$ in my hometown, line ups are insane though.

Cheapest gas around here is about 3.15 or so. The funniest part is that with the gas cap, everyone in Hawaii knows when the gas will be getting cheaper or more expensive, so this past Monday, everyone and their mother's friend's neighbor's cousin was filling up at Costco, which was only SIX cents cheaper than the deserted gas station down the street. I can't believe the amount of idiots willing to sit in line for over half an hour just to save six cents on a gallon. All week, every time I go past Costco, there's a line of almost 20 cars per pump. Gas stations are holding their gas when it's cheap and then can't sell it when it's expensive. The other day, my husband was filling up at a station that cost him 3.15 and he could see a Shell across the street that was 3.65 and another station across the other way that was 3.45. ?!

That always cracks me up Pikko.

Lets do the math for some of those less capable....

Savings of $.10 per gallon at let's say 15 gallons of gas

$.10 /gallon * 15 gallons = $1.50

You save $1.50 in gas for your 15 minutes of waiting. Then lets play further and say you fill up once a week.

$1.50 * 4 fillups per week = $6.00

15 minutes * 4 = 60 minutes.

So as you can see, unless you make less than $6.00 per hour, waiting in line is NOT worth it.

The best part is, that those people are paying $3.00 A DAY for some coffee drink.
