Hopefully the hurricane will just nail Louisiana again and miss me.

Judging from these latest storm track records, there's a good chance.

H-Town, baby! I'm staying, everyone knows Katrina wasn't shi[/u]t.. The problem with New Orleans were the goddamn levvies. Thankfully, the people who made MY city didn't flippin bank two bodies of water and nestle a population center there.

It will suck along the ship channel, but mark my words, the water will clear out easily enough. I just hope and pray that my city shows more class than NO. If any roving gangs come by my house they will have to eat aught 3.

For f[/i]ucks sake, why don't people learn?

Quote:
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin continued to urge residents to get out of the city. A mandatory evacuation order is in effect for the entire east bank of the Mississippi, and some 500 buses were standing by at the convention center, but few seemed to be taking advantage. Only 27 people had been evacuated by the end of Wednesday.

What is it going to take to get people to actually evacuate when told to do so?

Edit: Adding linky

H-Town is a ******* ghost town right now, with over 1,000,000 people evacuating.

Get your facts straight before you accuse us of idiocy.

Apparently a family evacuating were in traffic for 13 hours and traveled 6 miles...

They have tow trucks and gas trucks driving up and down attending to motorists.

Well they're doing thigs differently this time, at least. Instead of abandoning old folk to drown in nursing homes, they're getting them out out and burning to death in evacuation busses.

So who do you think we can blame this time, when we lose half of Houston?

The lesson to be learned in all this: Elderly people are hazardous and should be handled with great care by a hazmat team.

Had there not been multiple oxygen canisters on the bus, and had the occupants been able bodied individuals, they would have easily gotten off the bus. Poor buggars.

John Stewert on the Daily Show Last night;

"I just want to take a minute to talk to the almighty. What part of "God Bless America" don't you understand?"

(can't find the actual quote, but that was the gist of it)

Personally, I think the lesson to be learned is that old people aren't worth saving and should just be left to rot. I mean, if you're in a nursing home, you're not good for anything except sitting around peeing yourself for antoher ten years, tops.

Stevens said he had been struggling to forecast weather patterns starting in 1998 when he discovered the theory on the Internet.

I suppose Japanese Mafia Storm Machine sounds like a sexier explanation than "I suck at weather forecasting".

Personally, I blame Katrina on the Miami Sound Machine
