Things I have learned from watching the news on TV during the last eight days:



* The hurricane only hit black family's property



* New Orleans was devastated and no other city was affected by the hurricane.



* Mississippi is reported to have a tree blown down.



* New Orleans has no white people.



* The hurricane blew a limb off a tree in the yard of an
Alabama resident.



* When you are hungry after a hurricane steal a big screen TV.



* The hurricane did 23 billion dollars in improvements to New Orleans: now the city is welfare, looters and gang free and they are in your city.



* White folks don't make good news stories.



* Don't give thanks to the thousands that came to help rescue you, instead ***** because the government hasn't given you a debit card yet.



* Only black family members got separated in the hurricane rescue efforts.



* Ignore warnings to evacuate and the white folks will come get
you and give you money for being stupid.



* Damn, I feel so sorry for all those black folks.



* The only way it could have been worse was to be white

There is nothing offensive about that post. Now that you have made such a fuss about there being potentially, I feel inclined to add something offensive.

There, now your thread has something potentially offensive in it.

In the future, this is the asylum; you do not need to preface anything with "this might be offensive". That is already implied at "hello".

The majority of people affected in a major way were black people. Most of the white people got out of town. I did say the MAJORITY.



New Orleans was the only place flooded on a massive scale, thus requiring an evacuation of a MAJOR POPULATION CENTER.



Yeah, that and some, but New Orleans was hit the biggest so it's reported on the most. Just like the Tsunami, they didn't report on every little village up along every coast that was affected, the main reporting came from the biggest and most well known places. The tourist and population centers.



Again, they have a lot of poor black people, a few poor white people. The rest are middle class and rich, what can't you understand about that. They got out. Having a car and a summer home helps, you know.




And, when you need good footage, film the biggest dumb asses. Label the black theives looters and the white thieves surviving pillagers or something along those lines.

I just don't have the energy to point for point answer this ignorance. Poor people are screwed across the board, irregardless of color. But, this town had a lot of black poor people and some white poor people. Look at the footage of the people waiting to be evacuated, some were white, most were black, they showed both and all were poor. It speaks for itself to anybody with a brain.
