George W Bush, President of the USA has said "I take responsibility"

Impressive. No irony. The words of a leader. Good show, pip pip and all that.

First time I've seen him speak like a true Head of State.

Only took him a couple of weeks. Of course the first week he was on vacation, but still.

Be fair Sam, he was only on vacation for 4 days until he decided to do something.

The proof of the pudding is in the tasting. Does "take responsibility" mean that heads will roll? He'll deflect criticism off others and onto himself knowing that he's on his second term anyway? He'll "lead" an investigation? He'll rend his garments and dress in sackcloth? Will be be another "If anyone was involved^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h convicted in the leak, I'll fire them"?

I'll hold off on judgement until I see what "take responsibility" means.

He was in another physical location. If only we possessed some sort of technology that allowed him to communicate from off-site. That'll be the day.

Mebbe he's taking responsibility after hearing Mommykins say that many of them are doing quite well since they were so poor and all.

It means standing on a podium infront of national television to make a speech saying "I'll take responsibility!"

Radical! They should give the president one of those fancy phonethingys so that when he is on vacation they can get a hold of him.

Until then, I guess he will only be able to lead the country from one place. Oh well, maybe next time.

Ever since he 'took responsibility' I've been wondering when the resignation speech was coming. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.

Yesterday was "Video Game Day". The radio host I listen to was asking people to call in if their wife goes to bed alone and gets up in the morning in a huff because he's still up playing "the EverQuest". This one guy calls up and is like, "Hey man, I play World of Warcraft and I got my wife to play, so now I'm good!" lol

Senate Republicans on Wednesday scuttled an attempt by Sen. Hillary Clinton to establish an independent, bipartisan panel patterned after the 9/11 Commission to investigate what went wrong with federal, state and local governments' response to Hurricane Katrina.

The New York Democrat's bid to establish the panel -- which would have also made recommendations on how to improve the government's disaster response apparatus -- failed to win the two-thirds majority needed to overcome procedural hurdles.

"Just as with 9/11, we did not get to the point where we believed we understood what happened until an independent investigation was conducted," Clinton said.
Thank God Bush is going to take responsibility. I'm sure he'll tell his fellow Republicans to get that independant bipartisan panel off the ground, ASAP!
