As amazing as the immune system is, it sometimes makes mistakes. Allergies are the result of a hypersensitive immune system. The allergic immune system misidentifies an otherwise innocuous substance as harmful, and then attacks the substance with a ferocity far greater than required. The problems this attack can cause range from mildly inconvenient and uncomfortable to the total failure of the organism the immune system is supposed to be protecting.

According to new research from Duke University, that suggests a growing number of people are developing allergies to sesame seeds...not just in hamburger buns, but in everything from soap to salad dressing. Researchers have found in reviewing a lot of different allergy studies that in some cases, the seeds rank right under the most common allergens like eggs and peanuts. The problem is, public awareness is not so great.
40 years ago allergies to peanuts were almost unheard of. Now you aren't even allowed to bring peanut butter to school. I'm getting really curious about the degradation of our immune systems. At this rate we wont be able to leave the house in 150 years. Does anyone have any further information on this I can read up on?
