Please please do not judge New Orleanians by the disguisting citizens that make the rest of us ashamed of calling New Orleans Home.

Should we base our opionions then on your post? Doing so would elicit the opinion that N.O. residents like to fantasize about little girls in school-girl outfits, and have a fetish with anime or school-girl hentai.

Would that be a better representation? Smiley: dubious

That quote came way out from left field yo....

Umh not sure where you are getting this from ... is it because of my avatar? My avatar does not represent the person I am or anyone else whether they are from New Orleans or not. It barley represents 1/16th of my personality. This whole anime fetish school-girl hentai thing ..well that dude is an opinion you formed from one picture... which may i add I see nothing sexual about that lilttle picture but whatever..maybe that is some personal demon of yours.

My previous post was just to say hey ..not everyone in all of New Orleans is some crazy lunatic that would rather live in chaos and shoot people then to accept help and try to move on from a disater that has just occured to them and the other 1+ million of New Orleans. And hopefully some people who now have the opinion that the people from new orleans are ingnorant a-holes ...well maybe im hoping that they will think about everyone else that is very grateful and happy to be alive.

Shadow, I'm not feelin' ya as to why the people left behind needed to take TV sets, etc since there is no electricity and it is food and water they require, but if theft is OK in your book, well, I suppose that speak volumes about your character...

But then it is easy to sit back in your air conditioned home, eating when you want to, drinking when you want to, and attack the victims of this hurricane reacting in a way anybody would react. Damn I'm embarassed to be an American.

Now you got some knuckleheads out there, and they are taking advantage of this lawless -- this situation where, you know, we can't really control it, and they're doing some awful, awful things. But that's a small majority of the people. Most people are looking to try and survive.

And one of the things people -- nobody's talked about this. Drugs flowed in and out of New Orleans and the surrounding metropolitan area so freely it was scary to me, and that's why we were having the escalation in murders. People don't want to talk about this, but I'm going to talk about it.

You have drug addicts that are now walking around this city looking for a fix, and that's the reason why they were breaking in hospitals and drugstores. They're looking for something to take the edge off of their jones, if you will.

And right now, they don't have anything to take the edge off. And they've probably found guns. So what you're seeing is drug-starving crazy addicts, drug addicts, that are wrecking havoc. And we don't have the manpower to adequately deal with it. We can only target certain sections of the city and form a perimeter around them and hope to God that we're not overrun.

Unbelievable right? I recently heard some offhand comparisons made between this jack off and Giuliani after Sept. 11th. The contrast is pretty stark. What kind of a leader runs around spouting off like this basically inciting panic? There's enough trouble on the ground, the people know how @#%^ed up it is, they're there for god sakes. Leaders should be strong and resolved regardless of the circumstance, it doesn't matter if they know the situation is bleak...they need to be giving out instructions and finding solutions.

Why doesn't this @#%^ just step aside and join the rest of the paniced masses and let Harry Connick Jr. step in to lead these people. That guy has been amazing, he inspires me and I'm not even from the area. Keep his face on TV and let him speak to and for the people, he'll do some good. Then again, a retarded dog could do more good than this moronic mayor without even trying.

At least he's being honest. That's more than I can say for most politicians. He's not inciting panic, because the people on the ground aren't listening to the news. They don't have power. They don't hear what the president and the FEMA director and the mayor are saying. He can't be a leader because he has no contact with the people he's trying to lead.

You're right when you say the people on the ground know how messed up it is there, so what does saying this to others do, except put everything out there on the table for all to see?

The guy wasn't even a politician when he got elected. He was the GM of a cable company. He was a suprise victory. I personally think he's done relatively well considering the circumstances. The comparisons between him an Giuliani are bad, because 9/11 was a pretty localized event in New York City. Here we're talking about 80% of a city UNDER water. Their city hall is 3 rooms in a friggin hotel. Giuliani still had a city infrastructure and a working government. He had resources. This guy has virtually nothing.

And Harry Connick Jr.? Are you kidding me? He's a great guy and all, and he's doing wonderful things to help, but get serious.

Well, I don't see the mayor crawling around drooling and trying to hump the ground, so I think he's doing a bit better than that.

So the fact that I have AC and food means that I should just accept the idea of roving armed gangs looting and raping? Shit, someone should have had me sign a waiver before I got that AC unit...

I suppose one can always say "You'll never know until it happens!" but I'd like to think that I wouldn't react to such an event by grabbing a rifle and breaking into electronics stores and hospitals.
