Please please do not judge New Orleanians by the disguisting citizens that make the rest of us ashamed of calling New Orleans Home. You have to realize that the people left behind were the poor, sick, and convicts. The criminals were intermingled with the elderly and the children. Just because you are poor, ignorant or not, sick or healthy it does not meant that you do not deserve to be human.
I beleive that if this was too happen in most cities ..that similar occurences would have happened. There will always be poor, sick, and criminals.
These people where/are stuck in urban hell that no one was prepared for. Someone called these citizens savages well ... it's true these people were left behind ... in a state of chaos.. no food, no electricty, no water, nothing ... just nasty smells, crying babys, coldness, water everywhere, dead bodies all around ... I would imagine that if i was in that state ..i too would be feel anger, hurt, sadness, and all kinds of other feelings... and i think all that frustration and anxiety can cause some people to do things that they would not normally do in a normal state of mind.
By no way am i saying that the looters, rapists , and thugs or what not are justifiyed in there actions because of a natural disater and chaos.... but as it is .. New Orleans is a war zone ... If this was another time or country I think I would say well just shoot all the thugs that are looting and hurting other people ..and preventing officials from saving others... but this is the year 2005 and we well have to think about the consequences of our actions ... but if it was me out there and I had a weapon and someone was hurting someone else well I think i might shoot them in the leg or something. kk off track ..
but basically not all southerners are ghetto crimanals waiting for an oppurtinity of disater to steal, rape, and pillage through the streets.. just mostly the ones left behind is all...
