You mean that, in the chaotic period following a major distaster, you predict that people will act unlawfully?

Holy shit, Kreskin! What lottery numbers should I play?

This just about sums it up for any area where there are "haves" and "have nots." doesn't matter if it's N.O., Chicago, Santa Barbara, Hawaii, etc. The only real difference is the actual number of "have nots."

I predict alligators will take over the city and proclaim their own nation. America will be forced to pull out of Iraq because the gators got smart from all the toxic chemicals. WWIII

A crowd of about 50 to 75 people swarmed through a supermarket in New Orleans, taking out shopping carts full of goods before police arrived.

Looting was reported by police in Gulfport, Mississippi, where the storm surge left downtown streets under 10 feet of water.

Totem called it. Does that make it his fault?

I'm sure that almost any court in the country would find him liable.

Is there really enough usable sewage-laced flood soaked goods left to stuff into a shopping cart after a 10ft flood?

What is the store gonna do with it? It's all going to be written off and disposed of anyway. Let them steal it, less mess to clean up.

I guess I never even thought of that! How much do you think a shopping cart full of shitty smelling creamed corn cans would bring on Ebay? Considering of course they find someplace with power and Internet Access to post from? I can't wait to see how many donuts I can salvage. Glow in the dark creampuffs here I come!

Of course, the value of looted goods will be a fraction of the value of ludicrously overstated insurance claims:

"Yah that's raght officuh. Ahh had a shoe-box undah the bed in mah trailuh with 8 Faberge eggs, 5 Rolexes and $15,000 in umarked bills. Awl gawn. T'ain't the money, y'understayand. It's sentimentuhl."

Enjoy your imminent 15% premium-hike! :-)
