I have my copy on pre-order for 3 weeks now. I plan to go into vacation mode in ogame, turn off my phone and put a small frig next to my computer once I get my copy home.

I never got into Civ3 that much and still prefer Civ2. I'm guessing 4 will be more built onto 3 so I'm not too excited...

My thoughts exactly. The music in Civ2 was probably the best part, and Civ3's soundtrack sucked balls.

this one has slavery and religion... and you can customize your government..

..and the map actually seems like a 3D globe.. bit you can actually see city improvemnts and stuff from the map.

..and multiplayer is built into it.

just look at the picture gallery at the bottom... look at those maps.. it Is a 3D globe just like Google Earth..

they said they played with it multiplayer for like 2 years, tweaking it.. let's hope they get it right.

I've been playing Civ4 since tuesday and still finding lots to learn about how best to spend my research time.

I had pre-order my copy from a Gamestop that doesn't carry PC games, due to the lack of interest in the area for them. They had to guard my copy from all the people who wanted it, until I could get there and pick it up. As it is the closest gaming store to JHU they should know there are more gamers around, then just the local thugs wanting to trade in the last PS2 they stoled.

I still miss my Vikings from Civ2.
