Just received word of our Wal-Mart meeting.

We are sending $2 million worth of new product to the layout room, which means Wal-Mart is going to figure out how to get it into the new store set-up.

Total budgetted new product placement for this year? $600,000 for ALL customers. I've hit that with our other major account in one program proposal.

I freakin rule.

We have product in their stores. We are just one of thousands of vendors.

Once a year, Wal-Mart stores does what's called a "reset". It's just an update of the store layout by department. The reset is usually the only opportunity to get new product into the stores. Once it is approved, the store sits in inline for at least one year.

So our yearly reset meeting is our big chance to make sure that next years sales are healthy.

He's the guy that stands at the door and says "Hello" to you when you walk in. Which is odd though, because he isn't a Wal-Mart employee. I've heard they kicked him out a couple times, but the retarded and/or geriatric people that also hold the same position seem to like him, so the managers let him stay.

Neph you could come and take over the greeter's position at the Walmart near me. The guy has to be abouut 94 and he just stares at the people walking in. Ive seen little kids cry when his eyes, magnified by his coke bottle galsses glare balfully at them. He is one eerie guy

Greeter: "Hi! Welcome to WalMart."

Me: "Get the **** away from me."

I prefer Target for my shopping of that type. Pretty much the same amount of variety, better quality items and usually little if any price inflation.

Also, if you see a chick that looks nice from the back, you don't wind up shivering when you see her from the front. I have yet to see any of those "wandering eye beauties" that are so commonplace in Walmart. You know the type. Look great from the neck down, but they've got a lazy eye and at least one other very obvious defect, usually mental. I think maybe they keep them on Walmart's payroll because if I go in there I'm gonna see at least two during my shopping experience.

BTW, grats on the coup, Neph.
