Capitalize off her sons death?

I'm not exactly sure what she's winning here? Other than my respect, that is.

Only a conservative could call a dead troops mother a money-grubbing *****.. Especially when her son died to keep us safe from those oil fields.. I mean WMDs.. I mean Iran.. Oh wait, Iran has the WMDs..

What did her son die for, again? Perhaps you could clarify.
#10REDACTED, Posted: Aug 12 2005 at 9:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok Flea I know you're a little slow but is it completely out of the realm of possibility that she's just doing this to get attention for a book deal some agent has advised her would do well and make her a lot of money?

So, if someone has a lot to say its just better that they shut up and stay quiet to make the "conservatives" happy? Because if someone has a book's worth of something to tell the nation she shouldn't exercise her freedom of speech.. Yeah, Varrus, how very conservative of you.

Oh no...we can't think like that...she lost a son, her motives are pure...never mind what she said months ago we don't even need to report her conversations back then; this story is hot and she's so obviously passionate about this crusade to save all the soldiers fromt the fate of her only beloved son. The son that all he wanted to be was servant of the country that eventually got him killed. Something like that

Wow, you're more of an idiot than I thought.

Hmm, yes. Kind of like the Swift Boat Vet book...

Except in that case the author didn't camp outside John Kerry's house for weeks on end.

I wish!!

Nah. She's sitting outside the Bush ranch (sounds naughty) in Crawford, TX trying to get a private audience with our Shah. Her son was an enlisted man killed in Iraq.

Burden of proof is on you, bucko.

Is it completely out of the realm of possibility that Bush has the CIA orchestrate the London bombings to try to shore up failing poll numbers regarding the "War of Terror" or "Struggle Against Extremism" or "Jihad Against Non-Christians" or whatever we're calling it?

I mean... I don't have any proof but so long as we can imagine it being true, it must be the case and we should demonize Bush for it!

Evidence, Varrus. Evidence. Not conjecture. Not you saying "See, this must be it!" Evidence.

Don't have any? Then you're talking out of your ***. Which won't suprise anyone but let's at least be honest about it.

If only someone here had access to Varus's kinfolk, so that they could beg them to stop letting Varus near the "Keyboard-Talkin' Machine" anymore.

I see you forgot to mention Bush had already met with the entire family to offer his condolenses; which everyone gratiously accepted, including the mother who praised Bush.

I didn't mention it because it's irrelevant.

Quote:
Bush had met with Sheehan and her family at Fort Lewis, Wash., last summer, but Sheehan claims Bush did not know her son's name, refused to look at photos of him and repeatedly referred to him as the "loved one." Sheehan says she did not debate the president at the time because she was in grief and shock.

"I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan," Bush told reporters Thursday. "She feels strongly about her position, and she has every right in the world to say what she believes. This is America."

Bush himself agrees with her right to express her feelings. Why should you have an issue with it?

Because Varrus is afraid to let people know that Bush hates our troops. Smiley: frown
