Lilith is a pretty well known story. She was a bit of myth picked up from the Mesopotanians along the way in ancient Jewish times where she was a demon who stole children. The idea of her being Adam's first wife didn't come around until the Middle Ages and was never popularly accepted by the Church for obvious reasons though it makes a good tale.
