I search the job ads the university every few days but this one in particular caught my eye:

Quote:
Deals with the public on a regular basis. Provides information on parking regulations and procedures; Handles irate, emotional, verbally abusive, and potentially explosive people and situations in a calm and rational manner. Uses judgment and initiative to defuse disruptive behaviors; Assists in monitoring cash transactions in the Parking Office.

I'm SO there!

I was just curious as to what part of that job description sounded appealing to you? I used to work retail and hate the general public, since of course, most of them are morons. The worst part about a job like this, is that you can't lash out. You just have to sit there and smile while some fucktard lays into you real good.

Good Luck!

I worked with the public for YEARS (tending bar). It was ok at first, but after about 3 years, it gets really old. Hopefully I'll never have to work with the public again. Those people are insane.

I can do that. It's called turning, walking away, ignoring them and hoping they'll go away.

Unfortunatly, irate people feel the have not accomplished anything if you walk away. They demand you either snap back at them or totally lose it. Only at that point do they feel as though something was accomplished.

Ugh. That's the last job in the world for me. I hate people and can't deal with them. Makes sense that I've been working customer support for the past 6 years, right?
