As I was perusing The Emokids post, it got me thinking of all the fads and cliches there have been over the years, and how in High School we all had a label.

I know my Label was probably "Rocker ****", I had big hairsprayed hair and listened to Van Halen, Motley Crew, Def Leopard, etc. and went to 3rd base with almost every guy that hung out at the Smoking pit. I was are schools version of "Degrassi's Highs" Spike except I was 20 not 16 when i got knocked-up.

Depended on the day. I graduated in '93. I used to wear everything from a man's suit to a polyester mod mini to full hippie gear- flowers in my hair, long skirt, no shoes. I once even wore my bra as a top on a school field trip, but that was a dare.

I'd never get cited for an outfit. A teacher told me once it was because she wanted to see what I'd wear next. My after-school activities ran the gamut: Model UN, School Announcer, Peer Counselor, Drama, Choir... I suppose 'artsy schizo' comes closest.

I was the grunge chick who was heavily into drama, while somehow being able to keep the drama on stage and out of my real life as much as a teen can do. I was the one with the jeans, tank top and a blue flannel shirt wrapped around my waist, hair usually in a simple ponytail. My hair was a different color every few months, but I didnt get into the wld colors until post highschool. I somehow was able become friends with almost any type of clique, yet I never really had one particular clique I was a part of. I had my special select close friends and that was all I needed.

I was into dancing, twirling, band geek kind of thing. I wore anything from tight *** rockies, loose cargo pants to the ultra mini skirt/dress. My moto was 2 weeks or or forever, which ever comes first when it came to dating. I can think of only 2 weekends I was ever without a date through out my high school years. I was daddy's spoilt little girl and his ultimate nitemare all rolled into one.

As funny as this may sound...

Aside from being pretty average...I was a comical attention *****/troll. Smiley: laugh

Gotta love openly flamming someone in class, never using a cuss word making it "ok", no use of sexual innuedo to also make it "ok", and even make the teacher break into a chuckle after holding it in for the sake of my poor victim.

...but that was in high school, I'm a benevolent poster now. Smiley: grin

I was the ubernerd. King of the nerds to be exact. I ruled the chess club with an iron fist. The AV guys came to me for tech support. I had more computer rights on the school network than the network admin. Ah yes, those were the days!

actually, I was going to college for most of high school, so I didn't really interact with high school as much as some. But it was all good. College women were much more mature anyways, though a few of them were a little crazy.

I mostly just tried to stay off the radar. It mostly worked, other than a couple of incidents. School was never my life, just an unwelcome requirement.

I skimmed through High School. I showed up only half the time because I found it boring and too easy. I was a class clown/smartass when I was there. Hmm... 4.0, respectful to teachers... Hated most everyone my age or younger... Walked out the front door of the school and went home if I just couldn't stand it anymore... Basketball was about the only event I got into. I didn't bother going to prom or graduation or anything, since I didn't feel like I was involved with school very much. I kept to myself mainly, just waiting to have it done with. I was an overachiever who didn't want to achieve anything in particular for fear of actually having to work at something. =P

My sophmore year I think I was just one more person on the fringes of the various herds, not really belonging to any of them.

Junior and senior year I was an oddity. Considered punk, exploring my orientation options, brainy (so people thought because I sound literate), a bit of a culture vulture. Keep in mind, this was 78-80, when it didn't take much to be considered extreme or exotic.

Thank goodness my teachers and the school administrators liked me because mostly I was just watching the calendar count down until I could get the hell out of that school and town. I think they realized that and helped keep me sane.

Prankster that everyone knew and got along with. I hung out equally well with the stoners, jocks or nerds. Mainly cause I looked like a jock, had a stoner sense of humour and could talk in depth about star wars or star trek.

Usually in t-shirt and jeans. It was a small school of about 400 people so everyone knew everyone and I was just one of the few that didnt have problems with anyone. Grade 9-13 was a blast and definitely more good times than bad. There were a good 20-30 of us that hung out all the time and still keep in touch.

I am what I am now, a lurker of the shadows. I had 2 good friends and many passing aquaintinses (sp? english owns me). I was the guy who you'd talk to for 30 minutes one day and ask me what my name was the next day. The only "label" for me is prolly an outcast of the outcasts, belonging to no clique but able to hang with any.

One of those people who acts like they have someplace better to be just because they have an already-graduated boyfriend.

Other than that no real cliches, I just went to school, didn't do all that great but didn't do all that bad. My reunion is coming up in a couple years and the only reason I would go would be to see what all the people I hated ended up as. All the people I want to see again from high school I still talk to.

Listen to Black/Death Metal.
Wear dark colors.
Anger students around you for fun.
Insult teachers in ways that they don't understand.
Intimidate the students that did not anger.
Avoid doing work as much as possible.
Avoid getting in trouble while still having fun.

That's my sophomore year of high school. My Junior year starts this fall.

I am still in High School and I am the ultimate jock. I am a huge fan of sports, the ladies, and FFXI. Who knew they could be put together?

I was quiet and a bit of a band geek, in the emo crowd but I never really dressed the part. I wore long pants and long shirts year round because of some physical insecurities of being the twin sister of one of the prettiest girls in school (no I was not fat, far from it in fact.) Never missed a day in school, not because I was smart and did well but mostly because I had nothing better to do. On the whole I think others would have described me as a nice quiet girl.
