...Why did they have to make such a blasphemous move?

It seems they'll do anything to get Johnny Depp in one more movie before he grows old and no one likes him anymore. Ah well.

I do have to say, Manson would have made a pretty comical Willy Wonka. XD I could just see it now.

And these, are the Oompa Loompas~ *Gives a sick smile to an Oompa Looma, and it runs off holding it's ***.*

Does it seem like they're doing something wrong by remaking this movie to everyone else as well...?

I get more upset by girl bands butchering Old classics like "Sweet child 'O mine" than i do about movies i can just avoid.

I used to get up and turn the radio off in the office when that came on, talk about cringeworthy. I bet they thought it was better too Smiley: rolleyes

Some remakes are better than the Originals but not many, shows a lack of good writers comeing through IMHO

I've actually been looking forward to this. Granted, so far by what I've seen in the trailers Depp's acting seems kinda...I dunno, freaky. Though, at least they are keeping a hell of a lot closer to the book in this go around than in the Gene Wilder flick.

I think getting Charles Manson out of prison to make a movie would involve too much red tape. Not to mention the make up people would have a hell of a time disguising that swastica he carved into his forehead.

Why are they making it? Because the powers that be in Hollywood lack the balls to make original stories anymore.

The original movie was perfect, and defintely a fond memory for most everyone of their childhood. The fact that they're making another movie, and having Willy Wonka look like Michael Jackson dressed as a woman, is disgusting. Why not just re-release the Gene Wilder one if they're so desperate for cash? Oh wait, THEY DID THAT ALREADY. Bastards...

I could be wrong but the Manson they are talking about is Marilyn or how ever you spell that freaks name.

Yeah. Gettin too much of a Micheal Jackson-wonka vibe from that movie.

Yeah...he offered them 10 million to be Willy Wonka. Yet, they turned him down. I guess, like someone above me posted, they're trying to keep the Micheal Jackson vibe (Haha...I made a funny.) as low as they possibly can, seeing as how it's already about to tilt off the chart..

I've decided to go see this movie just to see how fu*ked up it is.

Next thing you know, they'll be re-making classic Michael Keaton movies. Wait a minute...

I have generally liked all of Tim Burton's films to date, so I have no reason to suspect that I won't like this one. Johnny Depp's teeth are freaky though...not sure how long I'll be able to look at that.

Smiley: grin

Well, Batman may not be safe from the unoriginality of Hollywood, but at least we can rest easy knowing that the great works of Peter Sellers will never be replicated. Oh, shit...

Hey Batman Begins was a good movie IMO, I liked it. Way better than the other batman movies with Arnold and sh't, or Jim Carrey...

LMAO I am looking forward to this, Tim Burton is always good for a different view.

Marilyn woulda made a damn good Willy Wonka.. It seems to me they are going with a creepy adult theme that can keep the kids entertained too, and for that, marilyn manson would've been perfect (and for anyone who doubts Marilyn's saneness, I did research on him and he is no worse than us, I mean, for millions and millions I'm sure a few would just dress up in funked ****, and called urself the anti christ while tearing some bible's apart as well

War of the Worlds, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman Begins, Dukes of Hazzard...and so on. It sure seems like 75% of movies to be released nowadays are just rehashing old ideas. It's sad how little originality there is to be found of late.

I was one of the unfortunate people that saw Tim Burton's "James and the Giant peach". I am of the firm oppinion that he should be shot on sight the next time he even thinks about doing a rhold Dhal (sp?) book.
