A year ago at this time it was 'f[Black][/Black]uck this, **** that', flames were scorching major areas of the forum and you couldn't read the site without cringing at the occasional not-so-much crossing of the line so much as the flying leaps over the line.
Reading now, though, the major instigators of said posts have for the most part left for warmer climes and the hyperbole on the board has descended into mere bole.
That being said, perhaps it is time for a name change for the forum as 'asylum' promises more than it delivers.
I think 'Minimum security prison' or 'House arrest' might better describe the current state. You?

Wow, the origins of Nephthys Being an Idiot in the Asylum! ******** about Bush threads a week before the election. That's beautiful.
Come to think of it, that is about the time that the Asylum began to go downhill. Nephthys joins, Smash leaves. Looks pretty clear to me.

Heh, yeah... Skeet always said he'd never leave. And even though he still pokes his head in on occasion, he's not here enough to qualify as "the best one by default".

I know that obviously my opinion doesn't count, since I have far less posts than the 'regulars', however, I read most of the threads and really used to enjoy Totem and Smash's threads.
Anyway, the OP is right in saying this place needs a name change. I mean, seriously, I'm bored at work today and all I can read here is 'Karma this', 'Sanctuary that', 'Alla make some changes'... I almost had to go read the FFXI main boards...ok, not really.
Anyway, my point is quit being total pussies for real. The problem children have left to go to thier own place, so let's move on and quit whining about losing Sage status. i'd be rating people up, but once you start whining my finger just doesn't feel like hitting that 'Rate up' button.
Oh, and for anyone that sees I posted something called 'Sanctuary attack' obviously didn't go to the link and get my joke.

Nah...I don't think it was until someone else starting poking around with the FFXI boards that anyone else really came. I was all by my lonesome on this one. Smash didn't leave until a couple months later.
Totem's post, the one that drew 5k rate-downs, was what brought over jay I think. And Nonlinear.
I think it was Professoer Totem, with the dork thread, in the FFXI forum.
