Well, my aquarium is finally set up again after the move, and the water has stabilized to the point where it is time to think about adding new inhabitants to the tank. I miss the Snail, and I think he's want me to appoint a successor to carry on his legacy. I have a few choices though this time as far as species go.
There is the yellow apple snail, of which the origional snail was one: http://strike9.com/piercet/Picture+32.jpg
they also come in brown, white, tan, grey and greenish varieties
Then there is the red ramshorn snail: http://www.rps.psu.edu/dec94/images/snail.jpg
It's got more of a maroonish red color, and the shell is curved like a mountian goat horn. THese tend to be a bit more fragile then the apple snails. They come in a range of colors
There are also malaysian pointy snail thingies. they aren't very big, but they reproduce exponentially. could be fun to have an army of snails I guess. they are supposedly good for plants instead of eating them.
I hear that there are some cool purply looking ones out there too, but I have yet to find one.
So what do you think, get another apple snail and feed it radioactive gobstoppers again? or one of the others?
