It's the dreaded monday of doom once again. What did you people type organisms do over the weekend?

Friday: WOrking on the massive top secret project "eviltableofitemtypestuffthatmayormaynotbeeq2related". that was fun.

Saturday: Went and watched my little brother in his high school band solo contest thing. He did pretty well. He played both tenor saxamaphone and viola (aka: Violin for over 6'ers). Did good on the saxaphone, and had the top rank state position pretty much locked up until along comes ms. "I play my saxaphone in a slit to the hip dress, see my boobies" came along. She screwed up her solo, burst into tears at the end, and apperently garnered enough sympathy to knock my brother out of the top spot, despite the fact that he played a more technically demanding piece, and did so without mistakes or waterworks... I may be a little biased, but something wasn't right there, and I wasn't the only one to comment on it.

The viola judge was an ******* and didn't giove anyone decent marks.

Sunday: Invited the parents over for dinner at my relitivly new appartment. Usually if there is cooking to be done, I'll go over there, but dang it, I wanted to cook in my place for once. It went well, except for the minor self destruct of the oven door. apperently the previous tennant had managed to get the oven handle to fall off and lose the locking nut holding it in place. INstead of replacing the nut, this genius apperently had the idea that glueing the handle to the oven, using apperently rubber cement of some sort, would be a great idea!

Needless to say, I was a tad bit supprised when the handle pulled away from the door, tried to pinch my arm between 2 oven surfaces at a nice balmy 350 degrees fahrneheit, then spun around on the remaining bolt and whacked me in the head. I didn't butn myself, but not for lack of trying. Am debating on making the oven suffer...

Overall it went good. I made my world famous beef strogonoff.

2 top round steaks, diced
1 walla walla sweet onion - flattest one you can find, because flatter = sweeter
4 portabello mushrooms, stems removed, chopped
4 or 5 handfulls of regular white or brown generic mushrooms. also chopped
3 tbsps "Better than Bulion" beef stock (that stuff is worth it's weight in gold for cooking)
seasonings to taste

cook all that in a big pot, then add
1 cup yoghurt, 2 cups Heavy whipping cream, 1 pint half and half, 1 cup sour cream. in the mean time, boil stroganoff noodles until they are almost, but not quite fully cooked. drain, then put the noodles into the stroganoff sauce and simmer for another 20 minutes. right Before serving, add another cup or cup and a half of sour cream.

the question of the weekend is:

Was aßen Sie frech über dem Wochenende, wenn höhnisch ein Llama?

Spend Friday night up north at a friend's house which involved paying approximately $56.35 in tolls due to the new and improved Illinois tollways system fee schedule. But I got some free booze out of it and got to taunt his wife mercilessly about **** so it was all good. Was thinking of spending the night but then realized that since my mom had my son for the weekend, this would be a rare chance to sleep in in my own bed, wake up and do whatever I felt like doing.

Saturday morning. Slept in in my own bed. Woke up. Did whatever I felt like doing. Which mainly involved playing the Pretenders at neighbor offending decible ranges while I got ready to go work on a side job. Did said job, came home and set myself to work on lifting the vinyl tile out of my bathroom.

Sunday, got up at an obscene hour given when I went to bed. Spent the day replacing part of the bathroom floor that had cracked then re-tiling with real ceramic tiles. Found out the bolts for my toilet wouldn't reach the soil pipe given the added height of the tiles. Bought new bolts. Found out that for whatever reason the 1/8" nuts from the old bolts weren't fitting my new 1/8" bolts. Nothing is ever easy. Also washed a bunch of grout down the stationary tub which probably didn't do the septic any favors.

Monday morning. Walked into bathroom. Thought "Crap, tile is cold in the morning."

Friday -- Went and grabbed some beer and a couple movies. Drank some beer, played a little WoW, then watched Metallica's documentary film "Some Kind of Monster". Pretty good stuff. I've always liked their music, at least up till Load and Re-load. They made a dig on those albums themselves. I hadn't bought their new album, but after seeing this, I'll probably pick it up. It's pretty weird seeing the whole story surrounding the making of Saint Anger, including Newstead's leaving, Hetfield's re-hab, etc. Very interesting stuff. I'd recommend it to anyone even if you aren't into Metallica at all.

Saturday -- Lazy day. Watched "Friday Night Lights" which was pretty decent, but I thought the hype about it was a little over the top.

Sunday -- Another lazy day (isn't life grand?) played some more WoW and watched "Saw". That was a good one. If you like freaky movies, check it out.

Cut and pasted from the EQ Boards...

Friday - No EQ, went to the bar with some coworkers for a couple of hours. got home and watched Friday night Lights... good flick.

Saturday - a little bit of EQ. XPd in Teneborous mountians. dinged 45. got Heater in the house fixed. did some regestering for gifts for our wedding at macy's. did a little bit of house work. night time rolls around and the lady and i decide to order in italian food and each kill off a bottle of wine.

Sunday - pick up ladies daughter from her dads and head out to get her her bday presant. she is now the proud owner of a diamondback 18 speed bike. if not for the rain she would have been riding it like no tomorrow. insted of riding it she played Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Azkaban on the Gamecube. while she played that i watched braveheart and helped the lady delete everything from our regestry from macy's because we found the same exact stuff but cheeper at bed bath and beyond. besides the webdite is much more user friendly. im looking forward to actually going to the store and picking everything that i want with the scanner. made tacos for dinner. played my LOtR Trivial pursuit after dinner. relxed, wathced TV after that. then went to bed

Hmm, über dem Wochenende aß ich eine reizende "Papa Murphys" Pizza, die den Cowboy genannt wurde.

It's not so bad when you drink Root Beer with it though.

Also, that stroganoff recipe is almost exactly as mine. Good taste in food. ^^

Friday-Played a bit of WoW, but mostly worked on report for high school.

Saturday-Met with some friends at the local gaming place for old times, worked on report some more, but got on for House Lokri's first court in World of Warcraft. ( http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-realm-stormreaver&t=25019&p=1&tmp=1#post25019 - if I find any better pictures, I'll see if I can post 'em)

Sunday-Nothing like a nice charliehorse to wake ya up in time for church...nearly finished up report, played some more WoW. Dad gave me my birthday present, a new 17-inch computer screen.

Monday-Woke up to phone calls from family members and friends singing and saying Happy Birthday (was today, BTW), and studied for upcoming exams, still working on report.

Oh, and Kao, according to Sir John Barbirolli:

Q: What's the difference between a Viola and a Violin?
A: A Viola burns longer
