Seriously though, can someone please just shoot this guy? Or at least send him over to have some fun in Iraq? This guy is disgusting and Hawaii should be pretty pissed at their univ supporting this maniac.

it might, just maybe, be because you're a hypocrytical, annoying twat. Get a rate-bot, or shot the fuck up about, nobody wants to hear about your karma and i for one don't want to hear you at all

Must you be a Premium Member to see who has been rating you? I feel quite noobish, but how the hell do you check?

You can't tell, so any pussy could be rate-camping you at any time.

Ward Churchhill is the professor who likened the innocents killed on 9/11 to little Eichmans and saying they deserved it.

The trick is to put what seems to be a valid topic on the subject line, then hit them with a karma b
itchfest when they click.

WHAMMY

They love when you talk about karma. I would suggest starting at least one topic per day strictly on the topic.

I thoguht he said they were "little Eichmanns", as in Adolph Eichmann. He was omparing Eichmann's genocidal plans to US aggression towards Iraqi citizens during Gulf War 1.

Well now see THAT'S not right.

What he said was that from the perspective of the terrorists, the US citizens killed in 9-11 where like the ****'s in germany due to their complacency and acceptance of US foreign policy.

The guy never said those people deserved to die, he never said HE felt they were like ****'s. All the man did was try to teach his students how to look at a complicated issue from a DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE.

Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ, the ignorance displayed by people never ceases to amaze.

Go ***** about your karma some more you fu*kiing ****.

Smiley: lol You crack me up sheeba.

Don't give me this think outside the box bullshit either., What he said was ridiculous and absurd. My mistake about the Hitler thing...honest mistake, not some Godwin's attempt.

There is a difference between teaching people to think critically and using a recent tragic event to push rhetoric down young students throats.

The karma thing is just fun too....it is my personal goal to make one karma thread a day. Don't like it?

Fine, it was ridiculous and absurd, but it was also protected by the first amendment. Or would have been had bush not shat all over the consitution recently...now its rather hard to read.

And why was it pushing rhetoric? It was freaking cultural anthropology class! Don't take one of those if you don't want to be exposed to how other cultures think.

You know I love you and your kitten, but really neph, this guy is being touted as a villian mostly because a) there is no news in Denver (trust me I live here) and b) this country is so fuc*ed up these days with the paranoia and the propoganda we're willing to blame 9-11 on anyone who sneezes with an arab accent.

Have fun with the karma thing, I'll do my part to prolong it by rating you up.

Well, Sheebs, let's not speculate about what he said. Here's the relevant paragraph:

Quote:
As to those in the World Trade Center . . .

Well, really. Let's get a grip here, shall we? True enough, they were civilians of a sort. But innocent? Gimme a break. They formed a technocratic corps at the very heart of America's global financial empire – the "mighty engine of profit" to which the military dimension of U.S. policy has always been enslaved – and they did so both willingly and knowingly. Recourse to "ignorance" – a derivative, after all, of the word "ignore" – counts as less than an excuse among this relatively well-educated elite. To the extent that any of them were unaware of the costs and consequences to others of what they were involved in – and in many cases excelling at – it was because of their absolute refusal to see. More likely, it was because they were too busy braying, incessantly and self-importantly, into their cell phones, arranging power lunches and stock transactions, each of which translated, conveniently out of sight, mind and smelling distance, into the starved and rotting flesh of infants. If there was a better, more effective, or in fact any other way of visiting some penalty befitting their participation upon the little Eichmanns inhabiting the sterile sanctuary of the twin towers, I'd really be interested in hearing about it.

A speech/paper by him.

This is not about teaching young adults how to critically think. This is him forcing his personal beliefs about the government on students.

Free speech? Sure. But at what point does a University say that this type of crap is not teaching, but preaching?

If he wants to stand on a corner and spout this nonsense, go for it. But to take unviersity money and push personal beliefs in a classroom setting as a representative of the univ. is much more controversial. That's a very tough question. But you can't expect people not to react unfavorably to this.
