"MTV.com is reporting that guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, a founding member of KORN, has left the band and has rededicated his life to Christianity, according to the group's management.

"KORN has parted ways with guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end," a statement from the band reads. "KORN respects Brian's wishes, and hopes he finds the happiness he's searching for."

The announcement puts to rest weeks of rumors that Welch was unhappy with KORN's direction. On February 8, he had apparently written a "letter of resignation" to the band's management. In the note, Welch detailed a long list of reasons for leaving the band, including increased moral objections to KORN's music and videos. In particular, he was upset by how he was portrayed in the clip for their cover of CAMEO's "Word Up", off their recently released "Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" album. In the video, Welch's face was superimposed on a dog patrolling a strip club.

Welch plans on further explaining his decision to leave KORN this coming Sunday, when he'll address the congregation at the Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, California. And on February 28 he plans to leave for Israel.

KORN are currently in the studio working on a new record, which is due in stores in September.

And on top of that:

Not a fan of either of the bands, but also take into account at one point in time, MTV said that Green Day broke up.

I'd take my life if they did, that and MTV isn't known for putting out anything of quality anyhow, pushing the same genre of utter crap that they do.

Oh yeah, I'm back to checking out the asylum again. Go me, I guess...

It's not like KORN or Blink-182 were the Beatles or anything.

Hell, Korn has been sucking *** for the longest time. I'd leave them too. (sucking *** in the selling out limp-di[/u]cked music way not so much as in sales)

and Blink.... Yeah, the world can only take so much of that, really.

I listened to KORN a bit in high school, but I've recently discovered that they suck, even by gnu rock standards. And now that Blink 182 has broken up, I feel that the world is a better place.

My defining experience with Blink 183 was making up a bunch of sixth graders to do a re-write on one of their songs at a parent-teacher conference.

At that point, I assumed they'd jumped the shark.

Q. What is jumping the shark?

A. It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant that you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it the climax. We call it "Jumping the Shark." From that moment on, the program will simply never be the same.

The term "jump the shark" was coined by my college roommate for 4 years, Sean J. Connolly, in Ann Arbor, Michigan back in 1985. This web site, book, film, and all other material surrounding shark jumping, are hereby dedicated to "the Colonel."

The aforementioned expression refers to the telltale sign of the demise of Happy Days, our favorite example, when Fonzie actually "jumped the shark." The rest is history.

Jumping the shark applies not only to TV, but also music, film, even everyday life. "Did you see her boyfriend? She definitely jumped the shark." You get the idea.

We have begun by chronicling the history of television. We are incorporating shows from the new season slowly but surely. Some shows are not listed...yet! We invite you to comment when any show jumped the shark.

I'm Not Gonna BElieve Anything MTV Says. And Because MTV Said IT First, Canada's Muchmusic Did A Short News Thing on it. I Hate MTV So I Wont Believe The Story until someone interviews blink and proves it to me. I'm Not A Hardcore Fan Of Blink, But Their Music Kicks ***. I Hate MTV, I Hate MTV SO MUch. At LEast Muchmusic mostly has shows for music videos, even shows for underground bands.
And I'm Ranting So F*(% MTV! F*&% Them Up Their Stupid Asses.

Get off of my internets please.
