Subject: Columbia now has one. Actually, Lexington, but it's all the same to me.

I went there today only to find that all the wonderful things I've heard about their pizza fails to be true when the 'chef' is too retarded to cook a pizza properly.

The damn crust was burned on the edges and the cheese in the center wasn't melted completely. Am I alone in considering this worthy of complaint? The manager left much to be deserved in the department of Customer Service.

I'll wait about three months or so to see if the store gets it act together before I go back. I predict that particular specimen will be unemployed long before then. The waiter, while inexperienced, at least understood enough about customers to refill drink glasses and to TRY to take care of us. He got his tip.

Nah, even though the quality of food and management begged for punishment, I didn't give him the ole 'Don't eat yellow snow.'

Five bucks. Keeping my glass from running dry is worth that much. Plus, it wasn't his fault that everything other than his job performance sucked.

Since they went national I heard even the orginal Pizzerio Uno was gone downhill. Quite a shame, as my family always looked forward to going there to eat, while in Chicago. Only reason I would still eat there is the house salad dressing, which I'm now allergic to.

We've had Uno's for years. It's ok, but nothing to get too excited about. I mean, it's still a chain. I've always found that local places and small chains have the best pizza out there. Once they start to get too big, it's not really the same.

If it's new, I'd expect them to get their act down a bit better over the next few months. Either that, or the restaurant won't last very long.

Locally, I love going to Dewey's or Pomodori's They both have great pizzas that are a cut above what can be found at your every day pizza parlor. At Dewey's I go for the Edgar Allen Poe, and at Pomodori's I'll eat just about anything on their Wood Fired menu.

I learned distrust for chain-pizza places of any varity long ago. Give me home-made and/or mom & pop local chains for pizza any day of the week!

Fat Slice in Berkeley, CA <3

Sorry about the burnt pizza...i would have demanded a refund and left the place...that's just horrid service.

I'm not much for Chicago-style deep dish, I prefer the East-coeast Thick/medium crust pizza. California style is all right but they use a lot of strange ingredients.

As for your situation, I would complain about it, letting them get away with bad service is not letting yourself down, but also letting the rest of the customers down, and in effect, letting the business down. It's a good thing to speak out when bad things go down, it helps more than hurts.
