I come to you all with the greatest need for help!!!

I work in a fairly large company in the cliche "corporate america".

I started to date a fellow co-worker about 7-8 months ago, and although things started off really well, it quickly became the relationship from hell.

I'm not about to bore anyone here with the legistics of what went wrong . . . but I now find myself in an awkward position and what better place to look for advice.

This girl is literally making a very bad reputation for me here in this company that I have worked very hard for, for over 5 years. I have many friends here, that she is now telling things to behind my back. The typical things that you would hear about from a freind or read about somewhere is basically happening to me.

What I would like to know, is if anyone has any ideas on how I could possibly get sweet revenge? Unfortunately her and I are friends with alot of the same people so it's hard to come up with something where it won't get back to her that it was me.

I'm normally a nice guy, but things have gone too far!!

Any advice?

I suggest that you ride out the storm.

I find the concept of your revenge unattractive. Regardless of her own behavior, you should not contrive to besmirch the reputation of a lady in order to sooth your own feelings.

Grind up some glass and slip it into her food. You won't get caught as long as your discrete about it.

Having no idea what sort of work you do, et cetera, I can't offer much in the way of advice. I just wanted to point out that this is why it's usually a Bad Idea to get involved with someone at work, and in many companies there's a written policy against it (in practical terms it means they can choose which one they want to keep and fire the other, which frankly may be the best solution all around).

although I agree that two wrongs do not make a right, I also would hate to see my reputation sink even lower than it already is.

riding out the storm is part of my strategy....

You already know that she is smearing your name. That leads me to infer that you are finding this out from said mutual friends. Which, in turn, makes me believe that they are on your "side" (for lack of terms, they wouldn't tell you what she's saying if they didn't think you were cool). What this means is that if you discuss the "issues" of your previous relationship with these people in an honest manner, that they will tend to not use the downgrading things she says against you to determine your worth as a person.

Her use of sabatage is only making her probably seem "worse" in thier eyes, so you're golden, IF in fact none of her accusations are true. :)

EDIT- Oh yeah, forgot to throw in what SamiraX said. Was a bad idea in the first place, but.... lesson learned.

Work relationships are bad, mmkay? But I guess you now know that...

Corporate office buildings are usually pretty tall. If you're above the fourth floor, find a window and give her a good hard shove.

Just put the rumor around that she gave your Dad herpes. Always works for me.
