No joke, about 4 months ago, I bought a Hershey's with almonds out of our vending machine at work. I sat down, and unwrapped it while I was working, not really paying attention.

I always break hershey bars up into the little squares when eating them so it irks me whenever I get one that doesn't have the squares. This one had squares so I was breaking it without even looking, just doing it by feel.

It was laying face down on the wrapper and I was about halfway done with it when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye; movement. Yup, the damn thing was infested. There were small worms in the almonds on the deges of the bar. They'd been there for some time, as the almonds were half eaten and small amounts of silk were spun in the empty area.

I was pissed. Infestations like that tend to happen when candy bars are stored near pet food in warehouses. These days I'll only buy candy bars that are sealed in plastic, not foil-wrapped because of that crap.

By the way, those little worms weren't all THAT bad, but it doesn't do much for the image to be caught eating them.

I suppose this is a good lesson to learn that you shouldn't eat almonds that you haven't inspected a bit more closely.

But anyhow, it is fairly normal for about all foods that are processed in some fashion to have a few things added in accidentaly. Like you may end up with some rat guts and **** in your hot dog from some Jame's Coney Island place, but it doesn't mean it will kill you or not taste at all good.

Though something a bit more disgusting than the idea of simply eating some worms is having some pinworm squirm into your feat and crawl around inside of you(which makes any mentionings of worms a bit more disgusting to me than simply eating some cockroaches that are half alive and covered with some hershey's chocolate syrup).

I'm not too worried about worms, fleas, skeeters, etc. I'm chemically protected. One of the advantages to having worked in agriculture dealing with extensive amounts of fipronil and methoprene is that, much like any other animal humans absorb the stuff through their skins. So, while my owner didn't hold me down and pour the stuff on the back of my neck, I've got plenty of it in my system.

Before anyone pops off at the mouth about it being harmful, you should know it's been sprayed on your tomatoes probably longer than most of you have been alive. And people regularly eat them without it being washed off first. And I've never heard of anyone getting sick from it. Nothing like experience...

It's not chocolate but I once opened up a can of tuna and found a furry mass with a rats foot sticking out of it. Suffice to say I didn't eat tuna again for about 10 years, and now only after I'm 100% sure there's not rat fur in my tuna.

Just one of several reasons ( including calorie count) that I refuse to eat chocolate, among other sweets.

No I didn't sue. I was 14 at the time. I just freaked and refused to eat tuna for years. I still have a hard time grabbing some tuna at the store now a days.

I also have a tuna story.

I was chowing down on a tuna fish sandwitch that i made. I bit into something. I pulled it out of my mouth. It was three vertibra still hooked together. Ok heres the thing. Everyone should know that tuna fish don't have really small vertabra. That being said i couldn't eat tuna and i still don't.

Bah, rats aren't all that bad, as long as you don't mind dark meat. They taste kinda like a mix between rabbit and opossum. The trick is to NEVER refrigerate the leftovers cause the meat gets all kinda nasty grease just oozing out of the pores once it cools. Fortunately, they're right-sized for figuring out how many to cook at once.

The economy is fine; why do you ask?
