This explains why the insurance on young drivers is so high.

It's a real short article.

Quote:
A driver's education instructor was run over by one of her students and pinned beneath the car for 15 minutes, officials said.

My drivers ed went a tad bit better, I only ran a stop sign.

All I remember from my Driver's Education was watching alot of f'ed up videos, sleeping through group discussions, some more sleeping, and just reading the handbook on my own time.. quite a few kids failed, probably because the class was too much ******** and too little actual information. That's CA driving school for ya..

Hitting your elderly driving instructor though, yeah, you'd better hope that she suffered a memory loss so you can blame it on that foreign guy in the back of the class who speaks only in clicks.

Today I had to bring my son to his high school..

Those kids drive like maniacs.. They don't look, don't stop, don't signal.. I think its fashonable to drive like an idiot among new teen drivers..

Seems as though the story would make a good driver's ed video.

I actually refused to get my license until the month before I graduated because I didn't want to get roped into driving to school. I didn't care for the way I almost got ran over when walking through the parking lot, much less trying to drive through it.

Smiley: lol Don't worry, people around me only have to worry if they're pedestrians, and people in the car only if they're wanted by the police. I learned to drive on a cross-country trip the week after graduation (manual transmission, no less), and I honed my skills in downtown D.C.

I get very nice cops.

As you admittedly slept through the bulk of the class, you are hardly the best source to offer an opinion on the course content. Offer an opinion on a class you stayed awake for next time, people might heed it a bit more.

In my driver's ed class in high school, we watched a video in which a man with a rather small head, a fanny pack, and a white baseball cap drove around in a full-sized van lightly honking at people to let them know when he wanted to change lanes, pass them, proceed at a 4-way intersection, or just give a friendly "hello".

At least they didn't dress him up all normal-like, to give the impression that unimpaired people actually honk at each other like that, or there'd be some good ol' fashioned highway shootings going on every six months around here.
