I thought they only did this in the movies.

Quote:
During the operation, some officers made numerous crude, disparaging remarks about Edmonton Sun columnist Kerry Diotte, on whose home the tape shows they had previously conducted surveillance.

Quote:
"Looking back about what I have written about cops, most of it has been pretty light. It wasn't like raving, off-the-wall rants and even if it had been, I don't think I would have deserved this kind of attention. It blows me away that it would inspire such apparent animosity and surveillance.

"That is very creepy and it's wrong in a democratic society; everybody knows that."

This has been on the front page for three days now. Edmonton isn't that exciting. Smiley: laugh

We live in a democratic society, and for this kind of thing to take place is absolutely bullshit.

Seems kinda sad a town would be so boring as to have articles done on police being their pissy selves. You'd think there'd be a few rapes commited possibly involving animals or maybe some thefts of some lingerie from a gang of travestites or something.

Having people write about how "shocking" and "disturbing" it is to have police be pricks makes me wonder if maybe these writers are trying to make it seem as though a conspiracy is going on in an attempt to divert attention from something more sinister going on in the town.

Believe it or not, this isn't an episode of 24. It's real life.
