actually I was thinking about this the other day as well. I would have never imagined that somthing such as this would have such a place in my heart. With all the ranting and flaming and arguing; there is somthing in it all that screams humanity at is purest level.
My friend are aware of this place and the fact that I talk about the Asylumites to people like they're a physical part of my life speaks volumes.
I was wondering if there was somthing wrong with this, if putting so much social merit in a MMORPG message board implicated that I have some pretty deep issues... But that just isn't so.
A "social gathering" is exactly waht is is, whether it be a bar, a club, a poker game, or a internet forum.
Being an internet forum seems to give it more purity in a way. There is not the same kinds of social stigmas associated with physical appearance or with people just speaking their mind without being worried having to be shy, or holding back for fear of some kind of reprisal. We are who we are. We represent ourselves by our words alone(and avatars ^^).
That is waht makes it more pure. No superficial judgements.
And all of this, while I manage to get through my Job, day after day. I associate with people here more than my own family.. And I can think of nothing else in my life right now that provides this particular type of mental stimulation.
