I'm still bouncing with joy. I was watching "Pompei; The last day" when this commercial came on and I ran to the computer to check out the site.

I was quite impressed with the documentary on Pompei. They did an amazing job in showing the life of the Romans, along with a great documentation in the hourly accounts of what happened. That is a show I would buy for my collection. Hopefully it will come out in DVD.

I missed the first half of the Pompei documentary, but what I've seen so far has been really good so I'm catching it from the beginning.

I just hope this Animal Planet special won't be like that lame *** special about animals of the future. God that sucked.

I keep meaning to catch the Pompeii special, but it seems like the ending would be sad. I think I'll stick to Project Runway for now.

But at least you know it's sad from the beginning. You're prepared for it. Plus, it's such an amazing thing to watch, knowing it really happened.

Speaking of things that could really happen that were amazing, I caught the tail-end of some special about a tsunami that is expected to hit the US at some point soon? They had digital simulations and it was frightening as all get out. I think it was on the Discovery Channel, maybe this one except I remember my sister commenting on how this one guy was saying that a tsunami would hit one of the Canary Islands... Anyone see that?

I think for a while geologists have been keeping an eye on this shelf that is going to fall in the Atlantic somwhere. And when it does, it's gonna suck.

I didn't exactly watch it. It was on and I heard most of it. Sounded interesting enough that I logged it as a "I'm gonna watch that when I get a chance" show.

<----- dragon nut. Even the crappy dragon movies I'll still watch (Reign of Fire). Thanks for the link, I'm looking forward to this. I have a dragon tat across my entire back, if anyone remembers the cover of the AD&D Dungeon Master's Guide (2nd Edition) then that is what I have on my back.

I thought that show was pretty neat.

My girlfriend and I have been eagerly awaiting the Pompeii show for weeks (yeah, we're Discovery channel dorks) but missed it last night. We were playing poker and someone had put on some movie about a professional gambler/drug addict, played by that kid on The Sopranos.

Flea, the US tsunami threat is from the Canary Islands. Apparently one of the islands is comprised of two volcanoes, one of which is about to break off and cause half the island to fall into the ocean. I think I saw that show you mentioned; it explained how landslide-based tsunamis are much, much larger and more powerful than earthquake-trigered ones.
