I don't think there is any question that what the kids did was wrong. However, this is a matter that should have been handled by the school system and their parents.

Detention, suspension, whatever, but what a waste of public resources to have them arrested.

They are kids, and kids do dumb things, and they are punished for it according to their actions and with the knowledge that they are just children.

Some children in America are harboring weapons of mass destruction. They have the ability to depict the death of any person any where at any time. Please band together to outlaw these weapons of mass destruction called "Crayons".

We can just repeatedly cavity search them till we find something. If we don't find anything, just cavity search them again.

We're bound to find something.

so my good friend and co-worker has three girls in elementary school public education in the fine state of Virginia.

she gets a phone call at work one day and she runs to my desk and told me that her daugher had aparently drawn male genitalia in class and was suspended. it's on the permanent record, blah blah blah, if she does something like this again she's gonna be forced into counseling and they're gonna send child services to her house to check out the living conditions, blah blah blah.

three days later my friend finally gets a copy of this little crayon drawing.

dude. it's a freaking TREE. like, OBVIOUSLY a freaking tree. the kid even TOLD the teacher it was a tree.

This "teacher" should be suspended for being a sicko.

Why is the government so fixed on stealing childhood from children? What happened to those days when people could actually say, draw or think something without fear of legal punishment? ZI have Tourette's syndrome myself, and I still get harassed by teachers, store-owners, policemen and such. Really ******* annoying.

Well if the police and government don't punish our children, who will?

What happened to those days when a parent could disipline, punish or repremand their children, without fear of legal action or Child Welfare services?

I can't even say to my child:

"Maybe it's not a good thing to draw pictures of murder and threatening to hurt people. It's a bad thing to do and if I see you do it again, I'll punish or ground you."

Without some liberal, butting their nose in and calling me a Bad Parent and threatening to call Child Welfare.

Damn, this might mean the end of my plastic fork smuggling business. I've already almost gotten detention and counseling for it.
