Patricia Tabram, 66, of Hexham, Northumberland, bakes cannabis-laced biscuits, soups and casseroles for herself and friends

Mrs Tabram, a former chef, said: "I suffer from depression, whiplash in my neck and back pain. I went to bed and the next morning I felt so much better. I didn't know what I had taken so I asked my friends. They said it was cannabis.

"But I don't like smoking so they said I could cook with it."

They always say, the quiet ones are the worst Smiley: laugh

I wonder if I should ask my Nan what she is cooking for me next time I visit Smiley: grin

Eh, she probably "serviced" Rockafeller back in the day, so she's explicitly excused on the drug laws (well, in NYS at least).

edit: is northumberland in new york? :p oh well

Big fuc[/b]king sh[/b]it.

My Uncle-in-law has MS and he uses cannabais cookies etc. to help him.

Using cannabais to help get over ailments is not unusual at all.

It is in the UK, it is still illegal, why this even made the news.

There is a lot of discussion in the UK about drug laws. Should they be relaxed for this type of use? (medicinal, to help alleviate aches and pains). I would happily presume 99% of the British public do not care if she cooks her cannabis cakes or not, we just find it amusing Smiley: smile

In fact, we find the idea of getting old disgracefully quite appealling and the idea of a pot smoking granny we enjoy, for some odd reason. We even make films about it Saving Grace linky Smiley: smile

So, uhh, what's the problem with marijuana, again? Oh yeah, that's right, anyone can grow it anywhere and never have to buy Tylenol or get a prescription for Prozac again.
The only reason pot is illegal is because it's illegal.

I don't get it, whats the big deal? I have no problem with medical marijuana and few reservations about making it legal for everyone. Which is hilarious because I don't even smoke or drink, never have never will. But I don't see why other people shouldn't be allowed to as long as the only person they hurt is themselves. Let grandma do whatever she wants. We have bigger problems than granny's 'special' bisquits. Good luck and blessings, Prana

It may be illegal, but it is very common for MS sufferers to use canabis as treatment in the UK. Some Doctors even recommend it off the record.

Semi-related question; Has anyone here ever tried Absinthe?

Since I'm too afraid to try other drugs, I'm thinking of loaching the green demon.

I have tried absinthe a few times. Unfortunately I was already quite drunk at the time, and I remember very little after seeing away a couple of shots. Goodnight sweetheart...

Absinthe is pretty close to a mix between mary j and acid. At least the good stuff is. If you don't use Mary j than I don't think you would be into absinthe. But thats just one mans opinion. Also there is some work to doing it right. I don't remeber the exact way to do it but I remember needing a strainer and a second bottle to pour everything into. There was also some kinda suger cube to make it taste less like car oil. If the old memory serves for more than a paper weight. Any way good luck with all that.

When I first read the post title, I thought it said, "Grandmother cooks Cannibals." I was envisioning this little old grandmother deep in the jungles of South America cooking cannibals in a big iron pot. Maybe saying something like, "Cannibal Surprise, it's a good thing."

Why couldn't I have a grandmother like that?

With the recent story of a guy who started eating his boyfriend I kinda expected to hear something along the same lines as well.
