Who remembers this gem? I've visited their site and they're still fighting legal battles with MTV to get a DVD made. Bastards.....

What about the guy with the ping pong balls? "Hey Lenny, Jello pudding?". "I wanna dip my baaallllllsss in it!!"

btw that'll be hot if it works out. i have most of the episodes downloaded, so it's not a huge deal, but they're crappy rips off of crappy vhs recordings, so dvd quality might be nice too :)

"It's time.... for two hundred.... and forty dollars... worth of pudding. awwwwwwww yyeaaah."

Isn't that when they have the pudding in the trunk and they just keep rubbing they're asses in it?

And yeah, forgot its Louie. Not sure where I got Lenny from...

Barry and Levon! yes. and all is forgiven about the "Louie" faux pas.

James Dixon: Power Guidance Counselor -

Straight from the site:

STATE DVD *UPDATE* AUGUST 1, 2004
Finally, at long last, the members of The State are working in conjunction with MTV Home Video to make the ultimate, REAL, DVD collection of The State. We going back to the original master tapes and loading it with great extras too, including commentary, interviews, unaired material, etc. Save your money! Stop buying bootlegs! We don't know when exactly this new DVD will be released. *update 4/14/04: it looks like we've finally broken through 95% of the red tape on The State DVD. Deals are being closed as we speak and we hope to have a release date for you soon. **update 8/1/04: Apparently there have been some regime changes and more unexpected legal delays, but MTV tells us the project is still alive and they want to release the DVD in the next six months. As always as soon as they tell us something, we'll tell you.

GRRRRRR I hate MTV. They will have "The Newlyweds" crap and "Ashlee Simpson Show" Bull on DVD before the goddamn season is finished.

Heaven forbid they try to impress the over 14/ nonpedophile crowd and release some MTV classics. The stuff created before it turned into a manipulative, false self image producing... I have never been so frustrated so I must stop....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i saw david wain on one of those vh1 i love the 90's as well, in addition to michael ian black.

and viva variety was hot until their last episodes where they went to las vegas and it really DID turn into a sleazy, stupid, vapid variety show. that was kinda confusing/sad.

I never got into Viva Variety, but The State was classic. My favorite was the sketch on how to catch muppets. They sang a Near/Far song to draw them out and shoot/catch/eat muppets. (I don't remember, its been so long) Apparently muppets can't resist a good song that has a lesson! I would love to own that on DVD.

The Last Supper:

Roman Soldier: "Hi, we're looking for Jesus."

Jesus: "Uh, ya..." Points at the way Louie and co. have run off, "He ran off that way wearing a shortsleeve shirt and a tie and I think he was screaming something about his balls."

*--------*--------*---------*

All time classic episodes:

"I want to kill the Presi.."

"Damn this Sideways House! DAMN IT! Jimmy NOOOOOOOOoooooooooo!"
