Nothing special. Played FFXI!!11!!one!!! and a couple other games. Cleaned the house, yelled at the cats, bought a new light dimmer, took some stuff to the Salvation Army, worked on my novel a bit, wrote my penpal, finished reading Neil Gaimens 1602 and then went a little crazy when I realized I was out of books. Most of yesterday was spent cursing all the powers that be for my internet connection being craptastik making it impossible to play the game and nearly impossible to do anything online. Got my ass raped by the Asylum. Same old same old. Good luck and blessings, Prana

Care to elaborate please? I'm a big fan of Neil's and haven't heard of this yet.

I didn't do much of anything. Played EQ2, worked on potty training my son (yay!!), watched movies, watched football, took a nap, and didn't leave my house all weekend.

/panic

I'm reading Neal Stephenson's Quicksilver. Really well written, but it's the size of a dictionary so kinda hard to take on the commute - I feel like I'm going to knock someone over with it.

Sure :) The actual title is Marvel 1602 and it is a comic novel/graphic novel like his Sandman series. Unlike Sandman, Gaiman was commisioned to write a story based on the Marvel comic book heros (X-Men, Fantastick Four, Inccredible Hulk etc). While I like them ok I am more of a Sandman fan. Anyway, the book is set in 1602 and the premise is that something has distrupted the whole space/time thing and caused events that would have happened in our time to occur 400 years to early (IE - mutations) which is ripping the universe apart. The Marvel character's are reinvented, one might say they are reincarnated or preincarnated lol. Gaiman gives each character his own spin and backstory, some are quite interesting, so don't expect to see the characters you know and love behaving as they would today (if they existed).

I thought it was a good book but not super fantabulous. It was a little predictable and they never really explained the dinosaurs but for the most part an interesting story. I got it for the hubby mostly who used to have pretty much everything Gaiman ever made and only picked it up because I was out of my own books. Thankfully a new shipment came in today from Amazon and I figure these ten novels will last me ooooh a week. But you should pick up 1602, the graphics are nice (mostly, though I take issue with the proportions and perspective of Virginia Dare), it's hardcover and the chapter cover graphics are nicely done. Plus there are some extras at the end (character sketches etc). I think you'll like it :) Good luck and blessings, Prana

Wow, sounds good. I'm pretty intrigued, since Neil is a DC Comics guy. Not that I know anything about comics; all I've read are Sandman, and a few Hellblazer GNs.

Saturday morning I finished off the last bits of molding that were undone, thus finishing off the renovation of my den. The big screen (42") TV should be going up on the wall as soon as I can dragoon some stout body to assist me. The fireplace guy also took measurements Saturday afternoon, so I'm eagerly awaiting his return to install all the bits and pieces for it (the fireplace itself never changed during the renovation, just all the surrounding woodwork).

I also got sick of my hair being as long as it was saturday night, so I took the clippers we keep on hand for the dogs and cut my hair down to 22mm in length. I doubt its been this short since I left boot camp in 1981. My wife (the NICU Nurse) opted to spend the weekend at my mother's place (much closer to the hospital) to make it a bit easier to get back and forth through the impending storm.

Sunday. I shoveled and plowed tons of snow. We got about 18-22" here, so my little John Deere tractor was just about overmatched, but since I could get a nice dry, running start from inside the garage, I managed to get the driveway cleared. After that I had to clear off my rear deck. I didn't want the weight of the snow to collapse it, and also had to clear a path from my back door, across the deck and down the stairs so my dogs could have some chance to pee in peace. Jack Russell Terriers don't know their small, but even they have a hard time forging their way through snow that's 6 or 8 inches taller than they are.

Once all the shovelling and plowing was done, I eased my back pains with some mild narcotics and a couple of Old Speckled Hens, and at that point, as far as I was concerned, all was right in the world.

Spent gaming time between EQ1 and EQ2.

Last night I discovered a single shot of gin will go straight to my head in under 4 minutes. Smiley: boozing

Saturday: Woke up, shower, and did a good job of squeezing the last bunch of toothpaste out of the tube (very proud). After washing and drying my clothes, I came down to the laundry room and find my stuff was stolen. Now I look at all people in strange ways to see if they are wearing my favorite jeans. Played some WoW till a floor party began. Got totally ****-faced and left the party before the police came as I passed out on my bed.

Sunday: Wake up, brain hurts, shower, and then food. Played WoW for a good time then did catching up in homework. Hung out with buddies playing Halo2 till the sun came up (really monday but whatever.

Saturday morning - Dropped the boyfriend off at the airport. Then headed to Best Buy and picked up some crap. Then I headed to Costco and picked up more crap. I strolled into Barnes and Nobles and didn't get anything. Went home - watched some of the DVD's I picked up earlier. Then I headed to the mall and picked up some more crap at the smell good body store.

Sunday - I worked out, did laundry and then headed to Target and Trader Joe's and got more crap. God, I love guilt free shopping when my boyfriend's out of town.

Saturday- finished stripping the floor. Took of the trim, and laid ceramic tile down.

Sunday- Cleaned the pool. Band Practice. Grouted the tile in the laundry room.

Nothing too exciting happened this weekend.

At lenders office for loan application for first home (cha-ching!) 7am-8am. Worked 8am-5pm. Played Halo 2 and GTA:SA till about 8pm. Wife came home, ate dinner and went to bed.

Saturday:
Got my ritual supply of iced coffee and bagels from Dunkin Donuts. Me and wifey cleaned house and laid around the rest of the day. Watched Collateral and Shaun of the Dead.

Sunday:
Helped friend setup his new TV and went to Sam's Club. Picked up 5-ton container of detergent and dog treats. Borrowed and watched Resident Evil: Apocapoop and Forgotten (pretty good).

OK, inside-out I get. How the hell do you manage to put your boxers on upside down? Do you ride the short bus to school?

When drunk, two holes and two legs is a match.

I realised what I had done after I put my pants on (normally eat breakfast in the nude.. :). It feels as if the pain will never go away.

Friday- Had my Macro Economics final + German final, then I went and played basketball with my friends for a bit. Then I went to my school's basketball game, and called it a night early because of an intense blizzard.

Saturday- Played WoW a bit, got up to lvl 38. My friends and I went to go see Coach Carter, and it was a decent movie.

Sunday- Had a basketball game in my rec league, won it by 20 points. Team went to 3-0, its almost certain that we are gonna go undefeated. Afterwords we went sledding in my friend's back yard, I put my keys in my pocket, and they fell out. Spent 2 hours seaching his yard, but could not find them. Still lost :(

Monday I had the day off of school. Noone wanted to do anything, so I sat around playing WoW. Did a few instances, made some gold. Got a ton of green items for my enchanting friend, so it was a success.

Nice to see the weekend update brought back (or maybe I've just been too lazy to find it).

Friday

World of Warcraft - Wallop made level 40 and got his free horse for being a paladin and my wife's Dwarven hunter made 40 as well so she bought the Ram - I plan on posting a pic of the ram for Aegisgang! Smiley: wink The paladin's steed is pretty cool, but I look forward to leveling up my own Dwarven hunter or Dwarven warrior to get my own ram.

We also ventured into the Scarlet Monastery with some other folks we've gotten to know in-game. I won just about every decent roll for sweet treasure. I told them I would report myself, heh. (No, I don't use a cheat-bot and wouldn't know how to even set one up - I mean really, why bother? Sweet loot drops like rain in EQ's Karana - I use the EQ reference since, well, WoW doesn't have rain, or other weather conditions yet.

Saturday

Big snow storm hit on Saturday, which was cool and gave us the opportunity to play WoW all day and into the night.

Sunday

Since none of you old timer knuckleheads got a guild going in WoW (at least that I'm aware of), my wife and I created a guild on Argent Dawn (Alliance). So I spent most of Sunday working on the guild website and message board (http://geocities.com/mythadventurers).

Eventually, in the evening, played more WoW...

I posted this on the WoW Alliance board and since I didn't want to start a new topic here with the same information, here's the link with our guild announcement. Check us out if interested, or at the very least, to mock my craptastic website making skills - http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=71&mid=1106752250165549667&num=0
